Our Editor's Take

The Danger Close with Jack Carr podcast features host and author Jack Carr. The show talks about Jack's military-themed action adventure books. He also talks with real-life heroes, other writers, and tactical experts on this podcast.

Jack is famous for his New York Times bestselling The Terminal List series. This series includes the books In the Blood and Savage Son. Amazon Prime Video airs The Terminal List, a TV show based on the book series. Reece, the main character, is a Navy SEAL. The character does not know fear. In the books, the character gets involved in espionage and conspiracies. Jack was also a Navy Seal, and his background makes the characters believable. Danger Close with Jack Carr answers listeners' questions about the books. Jack will also respond to negative reviews on the series. While Jack listens to all negative thoughts, he plays off most of them.

Most of the Danger Close with Jack Carr episodes have interviews with famous people. Listeners hear from decorated Army vets. Members of the United Kingdom's former Special Boat Service (SBS) operators also appear. Jack converses with former SEAL and Cleared Hot podcast host Andy Stumpf. Other guests include Douglas London, retired senior CIA operations officer. Others include the author and former SEAL, Clint Emerson. Jack also speaks with Sebastian Junger, a journalist, war correspondent, and filmmaker.

Jack hosts actor Chris Pratt on a memorable episode. The celebrity stars in the Amazon Prime Video series The Terminal List. That's the popular show based on Jack's book series. Pratt plays James Reece in it. The two of them talk about the TV show and the books.

In other Danger Close with Jack Carr episodes, Jack will respond to listener questions. He answers a question about what person from history he would like to have a drink with. The host answers whether he'd have a biography written about his life. Besides new episodes, Jack delivers "best of" collections around specific topics. This show has been a great listen since its 2021 debut.
