Habs news and notes: A state funeral will be held for Guy Lafleur on Tuesday May 3. Head equipment manager Pierre Gervais retired after a 35 year career. Carey Price was named in the NHLPA player's poll. Carey Price is the Canadiens’ nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. Alexander Romanov was awarded the Jacques Beauchamp-Molson Trophy.
Segment 2: BIG Topic - Closing A Chapter, Opening the NextOn Friday night, the Montreal Canadiens ended a tumultuous season that included injuries, a pandemic, firings, hirings, numerous dubious records and a 32nd place finish.
The next step for the players was to clean out lockers and sit down for their exit meetings with management.
The Montreal Canadiens' management has a great deal of work to do in the off-season including preparing for the NHL Entry Draft, signing their RFAs and new UFAs, and improving their salary cap situation by trading bad contracts. The off-season begins today!
