Pursuing a Dream

Pursuing a Dream
Do you have an idea, hobby, or passion that you've wanted to pursue? Will you ever do anything with it? When unfulfilled, these interests can cause us stress, especially when we're not satisfied in other areas of our lives. Guest Adam Bloom has been pursuing his dream for years and it's landed him on the road, on The Tonight Show and now on The Chill Factory as an inspiring case study of ways to pursue a dream. After the interview, Jordan Friedman answers the most common question about stress-busting breathing. About Guest Adam Bloom Adam W. Bloom, aka "The Stadium Guy," grew up in Los Angeles amongst great sports teams of the 1980s. As a 12 year old, he read a book called Dodger Dogs to Fenway Franks about a school teacher who went to all the Major League Baseball parks. Years later, that book inspired him to take the same trip with four friends, a 32-foot motorhome, and The Tonight Show following and filming the whole adventure. Adam's career across sports and entertainment took him to New York where he worked at companies including AOL, the NBA and CBS.  He takes pride in having attended every Major League Baseball stadium, Spring Training stadium and National Basketball Association stadium while he continues a journey to hit the very best stadiums in every other sport.  Adam has a passion for American cities and the people in them, and he hopes that passion inspires others to look into "who's playing" when one plans a trip to a new city.   You can soon find Adam at TheStadiumGuy.com and @thestadiumguy on Instagram and Twitter.    Watch Adam, his friends and their famous baseball player saliva collection on The Tonight Show.    The Chill Factory Podcast Website   The Chill Factory App Chill between episodes with The Chill Factory app, your calming companion to The Chill Factory podcast. Coping With the Stress of Ukraine
As the catastrophic invasion of Ukraine unfolds before our eyes, many far from the conflict are worried, outraged and anxious about our uncertain future. Jordan Friedman talks with psychologist Cassie Haas about ways to think about, limit and live with these unsettling emotions now and for the forseeable future. After the conversation, we take a couple of calming minutes to experience the opposite of war. About Guest Cassie Haas, Psy.D. Dr. Haas is a clinical psychologist who provides mental health services to University of Toledo students. She completed both her Master’s and Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Prior to her graduate training, she completed her Bachelor’s in psychology at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Haas provides a collaborative approach to counseling, taking time to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each client. Working through an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) lens, she believes that struggling against our emotions often creates more problems and that it is important to learn to allow ourselves to feel and experience our emotions as they naturally occur. She has extensive experience working with college students, which provides her a deep understanding of the various life transitions students may face. Dr. Haas specializes in the treatment of trauma, and also has an interest in working with anxiety, mood disorders, women’s issues, multicultural issues, adjustment concerns, and relational issues.   Email Cassie Haas     The Chill Factory Website     Mental Health Resources National Suicide Prevention Helpline: 800-273-HELP (8255) Crisis Text Line (US & Canada): Text HOME to 741741 SAMHSA National Healpline (for anyone concerned about mental health and substance abuse in themselves, relatives, friends, etc.): 800-662-HELP (4357) Worldwide Suicide Prevention Hotline (lists resources by country) The National Hispanic and Latino Mental Health Technology Transfer Center Network   National Child Traumatic Stress Network:   The Chill Factory App Chill between episodes with The Chill Factory app, your calming companion to The Chill Factory podcast.
