We will be back in the New Year with new and gruesome stories of death! Here is Erin's family cocktail recipe for the Brick Wall:1.5oz apple cider syrup (see below)1.5oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey bourbonGinger aleLime wedge1 slice green apple Combine equal parts syrup and bourbon in an ice-filled glass. Top off the glass with a bit of ginger ale. Squeeze in lime. Optional: garnish with an apple slice.Apple cider syrupBring 2 cups of apple cider, 1/4 cup sugar, 5 cracked allspice berries, 4 whole cloves, and 3/4 inches of ginger root (peeled and sliced very thin) to a simmer. You might think twice before you go foraging in the forest. This week we are talking about some of the deadliest plants and how they can kill you! Want to drink with us? We LOVED the Basil-ica, courtesy of The Spruce Eats:5 large basil leaves, divided1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice1/2 ounce simple syrup2 ounces Plymouth Gin1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur1 dash orange bitters1 dash Peychaud's BittersLong orange twist, for garnishMuddle 4 basil leaves, lemon juice, and simple syrup in the bottom of a mixing glass.Add the gin, elderflower liqueur, and bitters. Fill with ice.Shake for 10 to 12 seconds, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.To garnish, roll up the extra basil leaf, wrap the orange twist around it, and place it inside the glass.
