Our Editor's Take

The Shameless podcast shares pop culture news with audiences in a fun and humorous manner. The show informs listeners of celebrity gossip, scandals, and other lighthearted news. Few happenings in celebrity culture and lifestyle escape the notice of the hosts. They discuss Hollywood, the music industry, social media, and more.

Australians Zara McDonald and Michelle Andrews cohost Shameless. They started the podcast in 2018, and it has since grown a massive following. The podcast is a pop culture maven with over 40 million downloads and counting. After leaving Mamamia, a women's media company, the duo started the podcast. In 2020, Zara and Mich coauthored a book called The Space Between. The book is an introspect into life for people in their twenties.

On Shameless, the women present a vibrant and fast-paced show. It's like listening to two relatable best friends chitchatting. Regular episodes debut on Mondays. There are also monthly book club episodes where the hosts recommend books. After the hosts share their week, they provide reading or listening recommendations. Recommendations could be an episode of another podcast, an article, or a post. The podcast covers entertainment topics ranging from Disney to The Real Housewives franchise. Zara and Mich dissect every fresh scandal, meltdown, hookup, and breakup. They also address issues like mental health and social media anxiety.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Hailey Bieber, and Michelle Andrews have all come up in discussions. Topics also address TV shows, movies, and music. The Aussie hosts' easy banter, insight, and humor make the show enjoyable. The podcast is entertaining, perky, and informative. Listeners will laugh while learning what's new with A-listers like Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. New episodes drop several times a week.

A man for every decade
Hiiii! On today’s show: it’s been another week of Princess Kate headlines - apparently she’s at the farm shop! Nothing to see here! Everyone carry on! Plus, Meghan Markle’s curious timing for her new business launch, Olivia Munn reveals her cancer diagnosis, J Lo’s got a bit of a career headache on her hands, and Kylie Jenner is… getting into the alcohol game?  This week, Zara recommended Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors and The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. Mich recommended a snazzy TikTok colour analysis hack (you’ll have to listen for that one!) and the ABC Conversations episode ‘From Yale to psychiatric prison’.  This episode was made possible by FRANKIE4 and their brand new AW 2024 Collection. It’s us! Dropping in your podcast feeds on a Saturday! Why? Well, on Thursday we launched a very exciting podcast series over on The Shameless Book Club: it’s called The Tastemakers, and it’s something we’re so excited for you guys to listen to. On The Tastemakers, friend of Shameless Media Gemma Dimond sits down with some of the biggest names in Australia’s fashion, food and media scenes to hear all about how they indulge: how they dress, eat, live and… read. We’ve already dropped episode one with a very familiar face in The Shameless Book Club podcast feed, but we thought, why not give you a little taste, too? So! Here’s episode one of The Tastemakers with Gemma Dimond and Michelle Andrews… Big thanks to Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur for making this episode possible. If you are over 18 and looking for a treat, head online or instore to your liquor retailer and shop Baileys. To explore a selection of delicious Baileys recipes, head here. (Remember to Drink Responsibly.) This episode was audio produced by Chelsea Srinivasan. In your ears today were host Gemma Dimond (@gemdimond) and guest Michelle Andrews (@michelleandrews1). Join us in the all the book chat over on our Insta, @theshamelessbookclub, and our TikTok,  @theshamelessbookclub. Or, if you’re after some variety, here’s a link to record a voice message via our website, too. If you want to make Mich’s favourite drink - Baileys on Ice - grab a short glass, add a few ice cubes and 50ml of Baileys Irish Cream. Enjoy!

Hello hello! On today’s show: it was the week that millions of people around the world fell in love with TikTokker @reesateesa, and for very good reason. Plus! Tom Sandoval’s New York Times profile is… a complete disaster, Dakota Johnson’s new movie has officially reached “so bad it’s good” status, while J Lo’s new film is, well, something we need to unpack together. And! Apparently, Khloe Kardashian has been spending her days Facetuning her cat and we have reason to believe Harry and Meghan’s wedding was… a bit smelly. This week, Zara recommended reading ‘100 Small Acts of Love’ from The New York Times. Mich recommended Crime Scene on This American Life, as well as The Weekly Fifty. This episode was audio produced by Annabelle Lee. Big thanks to Betty’s Burgers for making this episode possible. Grab your bestie and head to Betty’s Burgers on Thursday, the 29th of February to celebrate the extra day of Summer this year with free extras. Head to their socials to stay updated!
