The Phoenix Frequencies

Nienke van Bezooijen

Phoenix rises: It isn't the ash that IS your life; it is the rising from the ash that makes life fertile.
In this podcast, I share how I relearned to live based on the present.
Every week, I give short episodes with food for thought.
Or I interview another phoenix who faced obstacles and moved beyond them. The real thing: because we get more from what and how we learn, than the pretended positivity.
As a HeartBraincoach and HeartAmbassador, I love to explore with curiosity the unexpected perspectives in redesigning your life as a phoenix.

Episode 20 (self)Compassion for Beginners

Episode 20 (self)Compassion for Beginners
Compassion with a mental approach is going towards sympathy; from a feeling approach, it comes from empathy for someone suffering or in misfortune, according to the dictionary. Can you access compassion for someone who is with hate or blame? Can you let go of judgments? Maybe if you are aware, compassion doesn't need agreement to someone's deeds or actions. Compassion is neutral, fréé of judgements. OK, that is to others, how about you? Can you stay away from blaming, shaming or judging yourself? Go to self-compassion? Nienke confused self-compassion for a long time with self-pity. Giving the solution to others to show compassion is not sustainable. Self-pity was due to life experiences, something she felt allergic to. She had a judgement about that. It blocked her from accessing self-compassion, feeling it, living it, and grounding herself as a Phoenix Frequency.  With the HeartMastery program and the Heart Ambassadors Community, the portal opened. How about you? We are all responsible for how we show up in the world, to others, ánd to ourselves. With Phoenix Frequencies, Nienke van Bezooijen shines her light on what we can do to be the best versions of ourselves based on how we show up and what we are willing to learn. It isn't about showing the way with pretended positivity, it is the heart-based vulnerability-sharing options. It takes courage to rise. See what is for you. Or share with others. Perfect doesn't exist; curiosity can be the stepping stone to broaden your perspectives. If you want to be interviewed as a phoenix, write to heartbraincoachnienke @gmail.com

Episode 19 Guest Nariman Hamo- Flying starts with a jump
Your well-being is my peace initiative!I spent my twenties working on Kurd's rights on the Syrian peace process. Very, very closely! This rich journey taught me that there is much deeper peace and freedom. They are beyond one conflict, one identity. Peace and freedom cross all borders and, most importantly, our individual borders. I experienced that as I had to flee from my birth ground in Syria to, finally, the Netherlands. Inside us is the only place we can truly start to make any change. If we make our internal reality the way we desire, our external reality will follow. They become one consistent experience where we thrive. Personal well-being definitely leads to social well-being. That is true peace-building!I am deeply grateful for my life, for being me, free and at peace. I am a certified 1-Giant Mind meditation teacher! I want to change the world and build peace and freedom through teaching you meditation! Episode 18 I married......

Episode 18 I married......
Marriage, tie the knot, or trouwen in Dutch, isn't something you do overnight. You gain trust first. The same is true with the marriage between the higher masculine and the higher feminine expressions within yourself. Before you tie the knot, you explore what works and what needs working on. You check this in a relationship, and it works to check in with these expressions, too. In normal, day-to-day life, you can become conscious about your response and realise you have the freedom to choose how to express yourself. You can pick what drains you and isn't sustainable, or you can choose what serves you in the long term. Nienke shares in this episode the parallels between the marriage in life and the inner marriage you can live. Ps. To solve the confusion, Nienke was once married for five years to the father of her children. She divorced in 1998. She was in a relationship with her second partner for 23 years, before he died in October 2023. The marriage between the higher masculine and feminine starts within yourself. From that point of view, Nienke is happily married for quite a while.  We are all responsible for how we show up in the world, to others, ánd to ourselves. With Phoenix Frequencies, Nienke van Bezooijen shines her light on what we can do to be the best versions of ourselves based on how we show up and what we are willing to learn. Bonus Valentines Episode Be your own Valentine
On Valentine's Day, so many of us speak about love, and in a sincere or commercialized way, love has become a tricky thing. What if you are missing out on someone else's expression of love?  What if this day is full of expectations or disappointments? What if you would receive a card with the words you say to yourself when you don't reach your own expectations? Would you receive that card with joy and love? Many religions hijack Self-love as a sin. But love, expression and experience of love can become a source for a ceasefire within ourselves. You don't need to approve all behaviour and actions of other people and yourself: you can always add love. Happy Valentine's Day.  If you want to read or hear more about love without adding an agenda to it, Nienke recommends her favourite resources:  Love for no Reason  by Marci Shimoff and Being the Source of Love by Sheva CarrWe are all responsible for how we show up in the world, to others, ánd to ourselves. Episode 6 Are you adding life to your days or days to your life?
Feb 5 2024
Episode 6 Are you adding life to your days or days to your life?
How we perceive our quality of life can be very different. It goes beyond the popular term mindset.  No matter how small it seems to others, we can all add life to our days rather than adding days to our lives. Nienke's gran Emma became nearly 99 years old. Till the day she died, at least she tried to add value for herself and others by adding life qualities to her days. She had a healthy and empathic style of interest. Although her self-esteem wasn't high based on her own opinion, she shared: with a child's hand to guide where they don't dare, I can move mountains and rise above myself: being at service. Sincere listening to each other fueled her well-being.How do you live your days?If there comes a phoenix moment in your lifetime, it can be a start to redefining the qualities of your new life. The other option is adding day by day till your last day. What is your legacy, then? In the rat race of working life, we often forget we truly have a choice in how we design our days. If you come from a place where you don't listen to what you need to keep up your energy to sustain, you are just a concatenation of your days. If you take a pause and listen, what do you, really, want? What do you let be in the way to reach that? These are just some questions to contemplate.Special thanks for the inspiration to dr Sander de Hosson, who is a real advocate for the quality of life of his patients even if there is no longer a cure possible. Care is what we all can add till the last breath. You can read Nienke's book, My Life with Emma, Moving Mountains in Silence to read more about Emma.
