9. The Heroine's Story: Breaking Old Patterns to Finding Freedom with Abigail Dowd
We've all heard about the hero's journey of self-discovery through trials and tribulations. But what about the heroine's journey? What does that look like, and how is it different from the hero's journey? In this episode, we explore Abigail Dowd's heroine's journey to self-discovery and how she had to break patterns to find her true self. More about Abigail Dowd Abigail Dowd a singer, songwriter, guitarist and perhaps most of all, a storyteller. Raised under the longleaf pines in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, rich in its Scotch-Irish heritage, she comes from a line of musicians and storytellers. Abigail has released three studio albums, including her most recent "Beautiful Day" that came out on all platforms last year. Before embracing her music full-time, Abigail studied anthropology at UNC Chapel Hill, directed non profits, founded an art academy, served on the town council, and travelled endlessly in search of home. She found it right where she left it. Now back in North Carolina, she is a full-time musician, performing with her husband, Jason, who she met on an airplane and chased down in the airport parking lot. Her dog Oscar and her yoga practice of 20 years keep her grounded, and she is fascinated by all the shifts happening as the Aquarian Age unfolds.
