Writing powerfully was central to her success. Throughout her 45-year career (30 in the Air Force and 15 with a federal agency), she composed items sent to Congress, the White House, generals, and ambassadors; hundreds of performance reviews; award nominations; and budget justifications. One of the few women in her generation to make the rank of colonel, Carla served in multiple leadership positions, including overseeing intelligence operations in a combat environment and later leading 2,800 Air Force personnel assigned to the National Security Agency. As a squadron commander, Carla transformed her 480-person unit from the most losing in state-wide professional awards into the one to beat. How? She developed her writing methodology and taught her troops to write. So successful was her program she taught thousands of Air Force members for the next 15 years. Here is what to expect on this week’s show: ☀️ Carla shares why powerful writing is integral to successful businesses and organizations.  ☀️ How to communicate core values to employees.  ☀️ The importance of powerful words when nominating co-workers or employees. ☀️ Understand word sculpting and how it will make a difference in your business and career.  ☀️ Learn word sculpting tools. ☀️ The three types of passive voice.  ☀️ The challenges of communication in leadership.  For more info, see www.WriteToInfluence.net.
