From New York/ New Jersey winning the location for the 2013 Super Bowl, to the internal feud between the Owners and Coaches of the Chicago Bears, to Michael Vick possibly being the lead man in Philly. Nothing got our attention this week in football, like the ruling handed down by the Supreme Court.
Some people (Namely The NFL Owners) forget that The National Football League is an American Business, and must abide by all of the laws of the land. This past Tuesday, The Supreme Court informed The NFL that they are not above The Anti-Trust Laws, and that they have to pay to play like every other American Business. In losing Needles vs The National Football League, The NFL Owners will have to pay TRIPLE DAMAGES, which is The Anti-Trust Law Penalty. This comes as a huge win to the active and retired players, as well as The Fans, as the ever looming threat of a lockout is clear and present. While the players see this as a win for free agency, we will still have to see what comes from this decision. The ripple affect reaches into all of the professional sports organizations across the country, and maybe across all Entertainment Fields, as well!
