You know, when you go in and do a short-term project here, a short-term training there, for client after client. Everyone who comes to you will order from your menu of things they can buy, and often it ends in one-time, short-term engagements.
But with short-term work, you can’t get traction with the client. You aren’t able to get in your zone and settle in, because you’re only there for a short time and then you need to go sell something else and do new work. It’s great when you have follow-on work, but it still requires you to sell multiple times.
