This week I’m joined by the talented and successful Australian Stylist, Kathryn Edmonds. With over 15 years of experience, Kathryn has a progressive and unique way of looking at styling. In this episode, we're diving deep into the ways that body positivity can empower us to break free from these limiting beliefs and embrace our unique beauty. We'll be sharing practical tips and advice for finding the right clothing that makes you feel amazing. So whether you're struggling to find clothes that fit your body type, or you're looking to boost your confidence and embrace your individuality, this episode is for you. Low Oestrogen, Big Dreams! - with Samantha Marfell
So it turns out my hormones are VERY unhappy…. again. After a very stressful year, I had a sneaking suspicion based on my symptoms that something wasn’t working correctly and knew it was time to reach out for support.    When it comes to our bodies it can feel like such a personal and sensitive subject, so my initial thought was to reach out to my good friend, and ex-client Sammie, who specializes in functional health.    Sammie has a degree in Exercise science majoring in Cardiac science however after experiencing her own hormonal dysfunction from undereating and overtraining 10 years ago (shortly after I had experience my first encounter with hormonal imbalance) she threw herself into building her knowledge around functional heath where she worked alongside a company in the USA, learning hormone testing, best practice protocols, physiology of the body and how hormones communicate with each other and other systems on the body.    In this episode we flesh out what my body is currently going through, and some of the protocols we have in place to help soothe my hormones back to a happy and balanced place!  Links Follow Sammie on Instagram - @Sammie.functionalhealth  Listen to the Aligned AF Podcast here  Follow Movement + Mimosas on Instagram - @movementandmimosas Follow Sarah on Instagram - @sarah.fitculture Visit my website for blogs/merch/coaching  - www.fitculturebysarah.com    Make sure you hit SUBSCRIBE to the podcast so you don’t miss out on any these episodes. A Lesson On Resilience with a QPS SERT Operator

A Lesson On Resilience with a QPS SERT Operator
The Special Emergency Response Team within the Queensland Police Service provides the ability to respond to high risk situations incidents statewide. The tasks of the role range from resolving siege situations to counter terrorism operations and everything in between including resolving the recent incident in Tara which claimed the life of 6 people including 2 QPS officers and a nearby resident.    With this level of responsibility only around 4-5 applicants are successful out of approximately  70 people per intake. The three-day selection course is regarded as the most difficult and physically demanding course within the Queensland Police Service. It tests physical and mental endurance through individual and team tasks, problem solving, sleep deprivation, basic survival skills and by challenging phobias.  You can only imagine the level of resilience required or to be acquired to have the ability to not only make it through the selection criteria but to maintain your role as a SERT Operator.    Today I have one of our very own QPS SERT operators with me to give some insight into what he does, how he uses those skills transferable to impact his life for the better but also open up about some of the challenges faced with this type of work. For obvious reasons we need to keep his identity private but I hope there’s something you’ll learn today from my conversation around resilience.   Links & Helpful Resources -  Follow Movement + Mimosas on Instagram - @movementandmimosas Follow Sarah on Instagram - @sarah.fitculture Visit my website for blogs/merch/coaching  - www.fitculturebysarah.com  Visit Overwatch Fitness - https://overwatchfitness.com.au/ Follow Overwatch Fitness -  @overwatchfitnessactual   Make sure you hit SUBSCRIBE to the podcast so you don’t miss out on any of these episodes.  If you enjoyed this episode, I would so LOVE for you to leave a rating and review x

It's Our Job To HALT Domestic Violence With Dave Kramer From Small Steps 4 Hannah

It's Our Job To HALT Domestic Violence With Dave Kramer From Small Steps 4 Hannah
Domestic abuse isn’t always physical. Coercive control is something Hannah Clarke lived with daily throughout her marriage until her husband took the lives of her and her 3 beautiful children, Laianah, Aaliyah and Trey in a horrific attack on February 19th 2020. For those who aren’t familiar with the term ‘coercion’, it is a pattern of acts of assault, threats, humiliation and intimidation or other abuse that is used to harm, punish, or frighten the victim.  This controlling behaviour is designed to make a person dependent by isolating them from support, exploiting them, depriving them of independence and regulating their everyday behaviour, and unfortunately it’s happening all around us.  The murder of Hannah Clarke and her children was a ‘line in the sand’ moment in Australia and in today’s episode we speak to Dave Kramer, an ambassador for Small Steps 4 Hannah on Coercive Control about how the foundation are tackling this issue head on and implementing a much needed change. We have no doubt by the end of this episode that you’ll have a clearer understanding on what Coercive Control means and we all need to play a part in helping push for this change. Things We Mention - What coercive control is and how it can be so easily hidden in plain sight. The steps you can take to get support if you’re experiencing coercive control. The importance of facilitating conversations with young men about how to manage their emotions. How Small Steps 4 Hannah uses the generous funds raised to support women who are experiencing domestic violence. PLUS Dave shares with us the Be There App and how helpful it is to determine what kind of support may be needed if you or a loved one is experiencing domestic violence.  Links & Helpful Resources -  Follow us on Instagram - @movementandmimosasJoin the Movement & Mimosas Group Chat on FacebookSupport Small Steps 4 HannahDownload the Be There App Contact Legal AidContact DV ConnectRead the Conversation Guide View the Coercive Control WheelView the Equality WheelVisit The Red Tent - a directory of practitioners to help you with your mental, spiritual and physical health. You Won't Believe How A Little Girls Trauma Led To A Global Movement with Ness Haldane
In a world where misogyny is still so prevalent throughout the community, we are so lucky to have a powerful woman like Vanessa Haldane pushing to create change. Our beautiful guest today is the founder of Journey to Worth, which started as a simple blog and has evolved into a global movement where women support and motivate each other and know their worth. Her foundation aspires to help women be less likely to engage in destructive behaviours and abusive/toxic relationships and rather know how to set healthy boundaries and support other women around them. Journey to Worth was inspired by Vanessa’s own traumatic history and through this experience has inspired her to build this movement where she provides support to women also experiencing physical, mental and financial hardship Things we mention:  How Vanessa educates her daughters on self worth.Vanessa’s pet internet peeves which are destructive for women. How we can improve misogyny within our own thoughts and beliefs.
