Galadriel Stineman is an American actress, producer, writer, and highly sought after acting coach. Best known for her wide-range of notable characters in projects such as Ben 10, Until Dawn, The Middle, This is Us, and Shameless, Galadriel has been a familiar face to audiences for over a decade.As a writer, Galadriel has several treatments and screenplays in development, as well as two successful novels published under the pen name Willa Frederic. Join me in my conversation with Chuck Keller. Chuck Keller is a retired Highlands High School English Department Chair and teacher. Among other recognitions, he was honored as a Teacher-of-the-Year and was awarded an Ashland Oil Golden Apple Award for his local, regional, and statewide work. For seven years post-retirement he wrote a weekly column for Fort Thomas Matters, was a member of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Education Roundtable, wrote for Cincinnati Soapbox, and still contributes to the Louisville Courier-Journal, and is an judge for the annual writing contest for the National Society of Newspaper Columnists organization. He is also President of the Board of the Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy, the city’s local non-profit land trust entrusted with preserving there natural heritage of the area, and he sits on other green oriented boards in the area. He served on numerous school, city, state, and national committees. He’s an accomplished musician who still performs, he loves to garden, kayak, and cycle. When he retired, the community honored him by naming him the Grand Marshall of the Independence Day parade. Chuck has won many awards in his career as an educator and has twice been named a Kentucky Colonel in recognition of his noteworthy community accomplishments and outstanding public service. He believes that a community is only as good as the people make it so he strives toward that end.

Do you know someone over the age of 70? Have you received a text message lately stating you had a package that was going to be destroyed if you didn't follow the link? Did you know that older adults are more likely to be scammed by these? That in 2021 over 90,00 older adults were taken advantage of for over 1.6 Billion Dollars! This episode goes over ways to prevent these scams as well as how to report them if they happen. ___________________________________________________________________________________________Melissa Powers began her legal career in 1991 working as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Hamilton County’s Juvenile, Municipal, and Common Pleas Courts. Most notably, in 1997, she obtained the confession from Joseph Paul Franklin, a white-supremacist serial killer.  This confession finally solved the 17-year-old double murder of two boys in Cincinnati.In 1998, Melissa left the Prosecutor’s Office to begin her private litigation practice, where she specialized in criminal defense and civil litigation.In 2006, Governor Bob Taft appointed Melissa to serve on the Hamilton County Municipal Court.  During her 10 years in the Municipal Court bench, she established the first Hamilton County Veterans Treatment Court that incorporated an innovative team approach and community collaboration to address the unique needs of justice-involved combat veterans. In 2016, Melissa was elected to serve on the Hamilton County Juvenile Court.  There, she presided over custody, dependency, and delinquency cases; including hundreds of violent felonies committed by juvenile offenders.  Melissa was the Juvenile Court Administrative Judge from 2020-2022.  On January 24, 2023, Melissa was sworn in as Hamilton County Prosecutor to serve the unexpired term of former Prosecutor Joe Deters.Melissa is a lifelong Cincinnatian, graduating from McAuley High School in 1979, the University of Cincinnati in 1984, and the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1991.  She has served on numerous boards, including Cincinnati Works, Operations Legal Help Ohio, Cincinnati Fire Foundation, and the Tri-State Veterans Community Alliance.  Melissa is married and is the proud mother of four children and grandmother of four grandchildren.Prosecutor Powers created Hamilton County’s first Elder Justice Unit in 2023, with a team of experienced and dedicated attorneys and professionals who assist in prosecuting crimes against the elderly and help facilitate connections to community resources and supports for victims and their families. In this episode Aaron discusses with Jocile Ehrlich, CEO of the Cincinnati Better Business Bureau, about the importance of making ethical decisions and how to properly evaluate them. ___________________________________________________________________________________________Jocile Ehrlich began her career at BBB Cincinnati as Director of Mediation/Arbitration Services.  She became President and CEO in 1998, where her focus is on assisting business leaders with establishing best practices and fostering ethics within their organizations.  Under her leadership, BBB Cincinnati has grown to become the largest business association in the tri-state, with more than 6500 accredited businesses and charities on its roster.Under her direction, in 2001 BBB instituted the BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics, a program to encourage and recognize ethics and integrity in the business and nonprofit community. In 2003, in conjunction with the Torch Awards, BBB established the Students of Integrity Scholarship Program that annually recognizes area high school students who have demonstrated a commitment to ethical decision making. In 2005 the BBB Foundation, now The BBB Center for Ethics was established. In 2019 the BBB Spark Awards program launched, recognizing young entrepreneurs and start up businesses that have a demonstrated integration of ethics into their character, culture and community.Ehrlich is active in BBB international affairs, having chaired and served on numerous committees.  She currently serves on the boards of  the International Association of Better Business Bureaus, American Advertising Federation-Cincinnati, and the Advisory Board of Xavier University’s Williams College of Business’ Center for Business Ethics and Social Responsibility. She has also served on the boards of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust, Cincinnati Rotary, and Cincinnati Rotary Foundation. Dr. Christian Gausvik is a Cincinnati based Family Medicine & Geriatrics physician. Dr. Gausvik completed his undergraduate at Xavier University. He went on to complete his medical school training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he was awarded the Leonard Towe Humanism in Medicine award, the Geriatric Medicine Award and the Community Service Award. He published numerous posters on clinical quality improvement in the geriatric care setting and presented nationally at the American Geriatrics Society research meetings. He also completed training at the Geriatrics Institute at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Gausvik went on to complete residency at The Christ Hospital in Family Medicine. He was elected chief resident by his peers, served on the Graduate Medical Education Committee and in 2019 was named Ohio Resident Leader of the Year by the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Gausvik continued to publish research on older adults, social isolation and health outcomes, interdisciplinary medical care teams and improved communication throughout his training. After completing a Geriatric Fellowship Dr. Gausvik took a full time role with The Christ Hospital Health Network in Primary Care where his focus is geriatrics and LGBTQ+ health. Dr. Gausvik has volunteered with the Alzheimer’s Association for over a decade, participated in global health trips to South America and received local and state awards for his advocacy activities.
