And I will guarantee that in each episode you will walk away with actionable tasks that you can apply to your life right now to become that ultimate Quarterback and leader of your household. Mike Schiappa - Hard work, Listening and be Consistent!
As you've seen, Season 3 is dedicated to my father, Mike Jacox, who passed away late in 2021. I Love and miss you, Dad. Our next guest is Mike Schiappa, who serves as the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for Beeline, a software company that services the human capital & contingent workforce marketplace.  As CPO, Mike is part of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for the strategy, execution, and success of the company.   Mike is a highly experienced Procurement Executive with a proven track record of running world-class procurement operations. Today, we talk to Mike about #fatherhood and how he strives to become and be the ultimate QB of his household.  I met Mike through our previous guests, Doug Leeby and Craig Coe, and the talented Jessica Ashcraft!  Mike is a Boston native who grew up with two older brothers who taught him so much about life!  His father was an accountant who ran his CPA firm and taught him so much about #hardwork.  During tax season, his dad would work from sun up to sundown.  His mom stayed at home, raised them, and taught Mike love, empathy, and relationships.   His #faith is also vital to Mike in his life, and he always helps others first.  Mike wrapped up our episode, sharing how we need to meet our kids where they are.  We need to be patient and realize that each kid is different.   We must slow down, listen, and always be consistent in how we show up to lead our kids. Please connect with him on Linked In to learn more about Mike or his podcast.Catch Sitka Seafoods Use promo code TAKE15 at checkout for a 15% discount on the BEST FISH EVER!Established in 2006, Acme Homes WA One of the most value-based home builders in the state of Washington! I Love and miss you, Dad.Today's guest, Brett Allen, teaches Freshmen English Literature and Junior IB Language and Literature in the Kent-Meridian Technology Academy. It is a project-based small learning community that integrates technology throughout the curriculum.   For over 16 years, Brett has been coaching football and positively impacting the lives of young student-athletes.  Recently, he resigned as the head coach of the football team at Kent-Meridian HS after seven years as the head coach to focus more on the family as his kids are getting busy with their activities.   Brett is also an active member of his school's Equity Team and the Kent Educators of Color Network at the district level.Today's discussion teaches how Brett was raised and his journey as a father.  We reminisce about days at Central Washington University, where we were college teammates.  One of my favorite parts of this conversation was discussing diversity and the impact that a recent book I read had on me (Raise a Fist, Take a Knee by John Feinstein).  #powerful.Brett also talked about getting the full story in any situation before we just react.  We must listen, be present, and truly understand a problem before responding.  Lastly, Brett also shared that we as Dads need to give ourselves grace as we are all on this journey together.  To learn more about Brett, you can find him on LinkedIn or connect with him via email at brett.allen@kent.k12.wa.usCatch Sitka Seafoods Use promo code TAKE15 at checkout for a 15% discount on the BEST FISH EVER!Established in 2006, Acme Homes WA One of the most value-based home builders in the state of Washington!
