My guest on this episode is Brett Elhoffer, mountaineer and teacher extraordinaire! Brett teaches Government and US History at Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, CO and has a Masters in US History from CU-Pueblo. We also meet up every year to hike Colorado's beautiful 14ers.

I brought on Brett today to talk about a show we both care deeply about which is HBO’s The Last of Us, based on Neil Druckman’s playstation 3 video game with the same title. The game was one of the most highly awarded video games in recent history and produced a sequel. The original Last of Us was so popular that it warranted a reboot on both playstation and playstation 5.

The show follows two main characters - Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, and Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, as they traverse through a post-apocalyptic America destroyed by a fungus outbreak called Cordyceps that turns its victims into violent, rage filled zombies hellbent on turning other humans.  The first season was 9 episodes long and received rave reviews to the point where we know at least one more season is coming.
