Forgiving in the midst of pain
Apr 25 2024
Forgiving in the midst of pain
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free, and then to find out the prisoner was you.” This quote by Lewis B. Smedes is far truer than some people can imagine. For those who have held on to unforgiveness for many years, the side-effects of it are toxic. Releasing unforgiveness and learning to embrace forgiveness of others and ourselves takes work but it’s a labor of love when you realize that you’re setting yourself free from the prison of resentment and anger. “Forgiving in the midst of pain” is the topic of the latest episode of The Woman Inspired Podcast. In this episode we talk about the difficulty in forgiving wrong-doing on a major scale. Sharing true-life stories of amazing forgiveness, we discuss what the Bible says about it and why we need to pay attention to the effects that holding on to unforgiveness has on our lives. Choosing Christ-like forgiveness
Apr 11 2024
Choosing Christ-like forgiveness
C.S. Lewis said, “To be Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." Choosing Christ-like forgiveness doesn’t mean we have to die on a cross. In fact, we don’t have to do that to forgive others. Jesus did that for us. We were called to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32) In this episode of The Woman Inspired Podcast we’re talking about forgiving like Jesus did and what a Christ-like, truth-driven, compassionate forgiveness looks like. If it quacks like a duck (James 1:5)

If it quacks like a duck (James 1:5)
Have you ever been duped? Tricked? Scammed? Led astray by someone you thought was good but turned out to be evil? The book of Matthew warns us about wolves in sheep clothing. That scripture is important for our journey with Jesus but also in our daily lives. Like never before, we have a world that is crawling with hungry wolves. We also live in a world that believes the lie that “If it quacks like a duck, swims like a duck and walks like a duck, then it must be a duck.” With technology today, fake this, altered that and artificially generated everything, it’s easier than ever to disguise a raven as a duck.   So how do you garner wisdom and discernment to distinguish the fake from the phony, the wolf from the sheep and the ducks from the ravens…especially when you’ve been duped before and you’re feeling like a fool?  James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” We’re discussing ALL this and more in today’s episode of The Woman Inspired Podcast, “If it quacks like a duck.” Go to womaninspired.com https://womaninspired.org/podcasts  to tune in OR search for The Woman Inspired Podcast on your favorite Podcast platform. No offense intended  (Matthew 24: 10,12)
Feb 15 2024
No offense intended  (Matthew 24: 10,12)
In sharing the Word of God, do worry you might offend someone else? Or are you bold enough to just put THE truth out there with love and compassion and let it stand for itself? Do you hear people water it down or try to shove parts of it in other people’s faces, with good intentions but twisted meanings? Matthew 24:10, 12 tells us that…”many shall be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another… And because evil shall abound the love of many shall wax cold.” This IS the world we live in now. But that doesn’t mean we should walk around worried that we may offend others by the way we live out our faith journey and grow our relationship with Jesus…and walk in truth. In today’s episode of The Woman Inspired Podcast we’re talking about the Word of God, how it’s shared in today’s culture – the good, the bad, the ugly, the evil and the truth of it. AND how to stand with Jesus in a world that will stand for anything and everything just for likes, follows, and attention. Thanks for tuning in to this episode. Church is hard (Acts 2)

Church is hard (Acts 2)
I recently read a poem called, “Church is hard”. You may have seen it circulating online. The poem was written by Jacob Waldron. Excellent writing and SO on point. His writing sparked me to talk about why church is so hard and what the Bible says about church. We have a road map to developing a healthy church in the book of Acts. In this episode we’re talking about how to make church NOT so hard and specifically about Acts 2:46-47, which says:  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Resistance is NOT futile (James 4:7)

Resistance is NOT futile (James 4:7)
The Bible says that if you resist the devil, he will flee. Do you believe that? Do you live your life like it’s true? Do you even believe in the devil and his evil ways? In this episode of The Woman Inspired Podcast we’re talking about resisting evil and what that looks like. What IS resistance? What does James 4:7 mean when it says “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”? Resistance, discernment, and letting the joy of the Lord be your strength is what we’re talking about in this episode titled “Resistance is NOT futile”. “She wasn’t afraid of doing good OR of resisting evil. She was merely afraid she might not be able to tell the difference.” Gregory Maguire To tune in, go to womaninspired.com OR search for The Woman Inspired Podcast on your favorite podcast platform.
