Robbie Kroger - Blood OriginsKevin Brannon - Lifting up his community through fishing, education and motivation
Kevin Brannon draws people in from the minute they meet him. He is living his best life out in California following his passion and dreams by hosting the Reel Anglers Fishing Show and continuously growing his Reel Guppy Outdoors program. Kevin and his team at Reel Guppy Outdoors work all year bringing opportunities to kids and families that normally don't get the experience of fishing. Volunteering is such a rewarding opportunity for people to give back to their communities and Kevin has found a way to not only do that, but also let some of the kids that have been through the program help with instructing the next group of young anglers. Join us on this episode as we hear Kevin tell us about his life, growing up in California and changing his life for the better through the sport of fishing. What an incredible story and journey we have on this episode, as we are joined by Joe Simonds "Like Diamonds" from Salt Strong. One of the biggest and fastest growing fishing companies in the country right now. Joe and his brother Luke grew up in Florida with a passion for all things outdoors instilled by their father. After growing up and graduating college, both brothers were very successful in the sales field and eventually worked together before selling their company and going all in head first into their dream of having a fishing company of their own with the goal of bringing families together and getting more people into the sport of fishing and outdoors. Now, the Salt Strong nation is going stronger and getting bigger than ever and helping people become better anglers all across the country. But this wasn't the easiest journey as we hear from Joe on their decisions that led them down this path and the direction they are currently going. So be sure to listen in as Joe tells us the story of Salt Strong. Growing up I always dreamed of going to Australia one day.  It was like looking at another world.  All the fish and wildlife that lives there, the amazing landscape and of course, Mick Dundee!  It is still on the top of my list to visit one day and I will go hopefully sooner, than later.  A few years ago, I was flipping through Netflix and came across a show called Fishin with Mates hosted by Al McGlashan.  This show was great!  Amazing fishing locations across the world, great guests and just a fun show to watch.  Little did I know, but a year later I would run into Al at ICAST in Florida and we struck up a great conversation and have stayed in touch ever since.  Al is one of the premier photographers in the world and specializes in underwater footage.  His shots have graced the covers and spreads of countless magazines over the last 20 years.  Besides the photography, Al has been a leader in outdoor television in Australia and has become a true ambassador for the recreational fishermen in standing up for strong conservation management of the fisheries.  I can't wait until the day I get to spend some time with Al on the water! Check out all of Al McGlashan's social media content on: Facebook @almcglashan Instagram @almcglashan YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/almcglashan https://youtu.be/zvlubpLz-Ac Check out the documentary, "Life on the Line - The Amazing True Story of the Southern Bluefin Tuna" https://youtu.be/hjdb1AVUnVI   Learn more about your ad choices. Chris Fischer and Brett McBride of OCEARCH - Just Two Guys Saving the Ocean
Thanks to Chris and Brett, my passion for the saltwater environment was pushed to another level with their show Offshore Adventures that aired for 10 seasons on ESPN with over 180 episodes.  This show highlighted the vast diversity of fish, ways to catch them, incredible culinary creations and the countless unique locations and people all across the globe that the team traveled to.  During the last few years of filming this show, Chris and Brett were already helping scientists with research on billfish and other pelagics swimming the ocean when the guys purchased a new vessel and realized they could do the impossible.  Give access to Great White Sharks to researchers that had never been achieved before.  With the transition to shark research, OCEARCH was born and Chris and Brett have never looked back.  With over 30 expeditions all across the world tagging numerous sharks, multiple research projects being conducted on each tagging event, the global Shark Tracker app and an extensive STEM educational program, OCEARCH has already accomplished so much and is answering questions we thought would never be answered about the Great White sharks' biology, range and reproductive cycles.   Be sure to check out their website for more info and track the sharks in real time. www.ocearch.org And follow them on their social media pages.
