E14_What’s Ministry in Alaska Like? Al-ask-a Minister From There...
In today's episode, I interviewed Caleb from Alaska! He's been in ministry for years in Alaska doing mission work. E11 - Stepping Stone 8: Raise Up Leaders To...
Thanks for sticking with the program! The final step is challenging us all to take someone else through the same program you just went through. You're now shifting from the role of 'Timothy' into more of the role of 'Paul' for someone else. Let's raise up leaders, and continually equipping someone in your world to one day become a 'Paul' themselves!   NOTICE: We're changing the format of the show moving forward, and we need YOUR help! The first season was almost exclusively lecture-style on the Stepping Stones. Now we're leaning heavily into conversations. I'd love to set up a call with you, whether you have questions about certain steps in this program, or ideally if you have a question about something going on in ministry. We want to protect the identity of individuals and their local churches, so this is openly stated: For the sake of anonymity, we're using fake names, fake locations, but REAL situations to talk about your life and your ministry. My prayer is that this change of format will help us to see ministry from a wide variety of great leaders like you. Let's walk through this together friends! Send me a direct message and we'll be glad to get you scheduled for the show.      Helpful info from today’s episode: Pastoral Statistics: you’re considering Christian education, consider Ozark Christian College! to purchase a T-Shirt or Book? Shop here: “The God Is Calling Me Season”: to walk out of ministry? Please, push pause and have a healthy conversation first! Feel free to send me a message so we can set up a time to chat: facebook.com/pastorshanethacker Want to be on the show (or have a question read anonymously on the show)? Message me and we’ll set it up! Questions with a mentor: What is your greatest strength that helps you lead as a mentor for someone else?If you had to pick one, which of these is your greatest concern about leading someone as a mentor: Ability, lack of interest, or time? Explain why.Assuming you have a ‘Timothy’ right now that you’re leading: Which step are they at when it comes to The Total Ministry Makeover? What’s one practical way that you can take them to the next step? DEEP (Delegate, Equip, Encourage, Protect): Do you have a similar model for helping people step up into new roles? Is there something coming up that you can go DEEP with them on?If you don’t have a ‘Timothy’ at the moment: Pray for the Lord to open that door for you and for them. Final note: My encouragement to you is to continually pray for wisdom in all of this! Regardless of how many people you are a ‘Paul’ to… never stop being a ‘Timothy’!

E06 -Assess Your Church
In this Episode we cover Stepping Stone 4: Assess Your Church. To all our viewers, if possible, I'd love to hear from you! Here's what I want to know: Every church has dealt with (or is dealing with) some ridiculous traditions, and we've all dealt with difficult situations as a result! Do you have a story to share? If you send it to me, I'll include it in the next episode or two! (NOTE: I will NOT share any sensitive details!) Please send them to: Email: shanethackerministries@outlook.com FB:   Helpful links from today’s episode: - Become a Supporter:   - Quest 52: www.Quest52.com  - The Total Ministry Makeover:   - President of LeaderTreks, Doug Franklin:   Questions with a mentor: - Before beginning this assessment, are there any ‘specks’ or ‘planks’ that might skewer your view of the church? Any animosity towards a certain individual(s)? If so, before proceeding please state it openly before this assessment with the mentor. If you’re unable or unwilling to do that, take some time to reflect before beginning this. - Some fun with the ‘little white church’: Is there a situation of a goofy and inexplicable tradition that you’ve witnessed to be blindly defended by a church member? What was it and how was it addressed?  - PAIN: Out of all the sin issues in this world, what brings your church the most pain?  - PASSION: What are the greatest desires and passions that God has given your church? Are there common patterns of skillsets, strengths in certain ways they serve, etc?  - PERCEPTION: Look at the big picture. How does their PAIN and PASSION intersect?  - Back to the pain: is there something (or many things) in the church that they are willing to defend that’s actually working against the cause of Christ?  o If so, what steps do you believe should be taken next?  - Take a look at both your POWER and the church’s POWER. Are there areas of weakness that they could actually help you with more, and vice versa? - If possible, follow up & have a discussion a week/month from now about your church’s POWER.    If you've discovered and defined your church's POWER, we'd love for you to share it with us! NEXT EPISODE: How to you appropriately address issues in the church?
