💜 BHTB: SEASON 1 FINALE: How can we emotionally cope with miscarriage, IVF & infertility? - with Ceci Jeffries
BEHIND THE BUMP - In today’s very special season finale we sit down with Ceci Jeffries, and ask her all the questions you want to know about emotional health when trying to conceive yourself, and how to help your friend who is going through a rough time when TTC! What is a good response to “at least you know you can get pregnant”? How can we emotionally take care of ourselves after bad news: a negative test, a failed transfer, a miscarriage? How does secondary infertility feel different to primary? How can we keep our intimacy/sex life going when dealing with prolonged TTC? How can we cope in the TWW? What is the best way to support a friend in the trenches? What’s the most considerate way to share your pregnancy news with a friend who is struggling to fall pregnant? And so much more!   Hosts: La & Sophie   A huge thank you to all our incredibly brave guests this season, and our legendary, supportive audience - the bumpies! Is the mental load fair in your relationship?! Doing the Fair Play cards - with Nick and Sophie
Welcome to Episode 227 of Beyond the Bump! In today's episode, Nick and I took a unique approach as we delved into the mental load Fair Play Cards. We'll provide a proper update on our progress once we've had more time with it, but I must say, it's already making a world of difference. Although having said this, my plants are looking a little limp, so we may need to redistribute that card (haha!). But aside from that, things have been going very well and I can’t wait to do this with Jayde and Harry soon.  It's important to remember that every family's dynamics vary, but our experience has been positive, and we're excited to share it with you. Here's to hoping you find it as beneficial as we have!   Resources: Plants in a Box recipearce.com The Fair Play Cards The Fair Play Book    Beyond the Bump is a podcast brought to you by Jayde Couldwell and Sophie Pearce! Anyone else feeling overwhelmed by motherhood? Being compassionate with ourselves - with Belinda Haan
Welcome to Episode 223 of Beyond the Bump!  This episode contains honest, personal discussions about difficult emotions such as rage and anger. Motherhood provides plenty of experiences of joy, love and gratitude but it also contains frustration, exhaustion, anger and overwhelm among many other emotional states.  When we know that difficult emotions are an inherent part of motherhood, and being human, it can help us feel less alone or prevent us from experiencing shame. Emotions are an automatic response to internal or external stimuli. We don’t get to choose what arises but we can learn to work with what comes up and how to meet our needs to feel okay.  There were a few ideas shared on how to work with difficult emotions on this episode and there are plenty more in The Emotional Support for Mothers toolkit. However, we all know that the reality is that it can be hard to experience and make sense of these emotions on our own.  If you are experiencing persistent painful feelings you need and deserve love, care and support. Please contact your doctor to discuss how to get the compassionate support you deserve.  Here are some free resources that may support you: Postnatal Rage: Centre for Perinatal Excellence (COPE)Gidget FoundationPANDABeyond BlueWorking with our triggers: free guided reflection coming soon - sign up here.  The Emotional Support for Mothers toolkit (Coupon Code: BTB10)   Beyond the Bump is a podcast brought to you by Jayde Couldwell and Sophie Pearce!
