Our Editor's Take

The Junior Hereford Show is here to educate, inspire and inform listeners. For decades, the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is behind the podcast. The organization is active in moving sustainable cattle breeding into the future. In this podcast, NJHA members can learn more about what's going on in the association. This includes learning about other members, advertisers, sponsors, and NJHA supporters.

Hereford is a breed of cattle developed by Farmers in Herefordshire, England in 1742. So this breed has a long, illustrious history. The Junior Hereford Show talks about the latest innovations with this breed.

With this project, the board of the NJHA explores new topics. Amy Cowan came up with the idea for The Junior Hereford Show podcast some time ago. She's the American Hereford Association Youth Activities Director. In the summer of 2021, her podcast dream finally came to fruition. Since then, the board members have been busy preparing the content for future episodes. "It's definitely one of the most exciting ideas that I've been a part of in my three years on the board," says NJHA chairman and podcast host Noah Benedict.

The idea of The Junior Hereford Show podcast is simple. The NJHA wants to better connect with their members throughout the year. Episodes share updates and inform about programs, scholarships, and events. They also do episodes on past members and update people on what they're doing today.

The NJHA comprises more than 7,500 members. The organization is an advocate for education. And, of course, it's famous for its excellent cattle breeding standards. The Junior Hereford Show is a good listen for those interested in learning more.
