TrendingThursday with Clio Stoidis - 08.04.22
TwoSistas and it’s TrendingThursday with our guest, Clio Stoidis.  Clio is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach whose practice is specifically on gut health.  She coaches women with IBD/chronic digestive issues to reduce their symptoms, regain renewed energy and eat without fear so they can live the life they truly desire. Clio is a former attorney who became a health coach.  It was through her own journey back to health after being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2005.  After more than 7 years of trial and error, she experimented with every diet out there.  She felt as though she was on a continuous cycle of flares/no flares/flares.  She finally managed to break free and heal through nutrition and lifestyle approaches. The experience with her own journey back to health of course had many twists and turns.  As she explained, it was a long journey and she had to do the work to change the narrative. Food is emotional; it’s not so much about the diet.  It’s about supplying really good nutritious food that will feed the good bacteria.  When we are stressed, the emotional connection to food can be a barrier of our suppressed emotions. There are many triggers, many which are suppressed through our gut.  When Clio was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease she began doing the inner work.  She listened to the signs her body was giving her.  Reconnect to your gut intuition and seek the medical advice of a specialist who can assist you in this regard. (Clio gave such amazing advice!  Certainly a long process to go through.  Don’t settle for less than.  Do the inner work; listen to the signs that you are ignoring!) As Janis and Clio can attest to (both being certified through IIN - Institute of Integrative Nutrition), the original founder of IIN, Joshua Rosenthal once said “ . . . the body can heal itself if given half a chance . . . “ Thank you so much Clio!  Such and engaging and enlightening conversation - we enjoyed having you on the TwoSistas Podcast! WealthWellnessWednesday with Evelyn LeVasseur - 08.03.22
TwoSistas and its WealthWellnessWednesday with our guest, Evelyn LeVasseur.  Evelyn is a Transformational Speaker, #Moderation365 and hormonal fat loss nutrition coach, certified group and personal trainer, and has a specialization in behavior change. The journey to wellness is a story process.  The process is often a long difficult road and when we arrive at the fork in the road, sometimes we don’t know what path to choose.  It’s through our behavior that we can start the process of changing our wellness not just through fitness and nutrition but through the small things that add up to bigger things such as our “thinking” and the internal dialogue which is often a negative conversation that we have with ourselves. Evelyn mentioned that acceptance is a key factor in loving ourselves which will help us to navigate toward a healthier lifestyle.  She said that many of her clients “ . . . they equate it with giving up.”  Acceptance is not about giving up! The overall message is one of “shifting” - shifting our behavior, i.e., the negative chatter.  For instance, Janis shared she cannot be trusted around a bag of chips but every now and then, she will buy them and will often put a few in a small container or baggy.  She chooses to have them at certain times and when she does, she is proud that she has not eaten the hold bag (which she has been known to do.) Evelyn explained this is a form of “exposure therapy”.  Taking the negative, exposing ourselves and NOT denying ourselves of what we love! Evelyn is the owner of Evelyn LeVasseur Fitness, a company that focuses on helping busy, overwhelmed moms reach their health goals without dieting or deprivation.  She wants every woman to know she can want to change her body and love it at the same time. Most importantly, she shared that we want our children to grow to be strong, self-loving, and confident, we must be willing to live that way for ourselves. We can’t just wish better for them, we have to show them what happiness looks like. What does happiness look like for you? Thank you so much Evelyn!  Such and engaging and enlightening conversation - we enjoyed having you on the TwoSistas Podcast! TrendingThursday at Night with Naz De Bono - 07.28.22
TwoSistas and it’s TrendingThursday @ Night with Naz De Bono  Naz is a personal trainer, health coach and the CEO and Founder of XALI.  (XALI is a wellness company for women, by women.  Xali is a new holistic health platform, led by emotion and intuition, designed specifically for women experiencing biological changes.) There comes a certain time in a woman’s life where “things” start happening.  As Naz describes, “it’s not menopause; it’s metaphorsis.”  This became very apparent to her where she undertook to redefine and discover what so many women are going through. Naz began her research in Australia and came up with interesting stats.  There is a stigma associated with women experiencing symptoms connected with peri and menopause - about 64% of those women that participated in the research did not seek help while 21% reported ‘it was just part of getting older’ and did not know that there was anything that could help them.  About 39% just felt that they would ‘live with the symptoms’ they experience. This made such an impression on Naz; she knew she had to do something more!  She started her business ReDux and just like menopause, her company went through a metamorphsis and XALI was born!  A tribe of women, an evolution, a new beginning!  “It’s time to reconnect to your power!” How will you reconnect with your power? To connect with Naz further and to find out more about “XALI”, please check out her website and other various social media platforms: is one of those podcasts that we will certainly listen to again (yes; we listen to our own podcasts!)  Naz poured out her heart and soul and you know without a doubt, that if you were ever to make a change or go through a change, you have a tribe of women with you along the way! WealthWellnessWednesday with Adora Winquist - 07.27.22
TwoSistas and it’s WealthWellnessWednesday with Adora Winquist!  Adora is a Modern Alchemist having established one of the 1st brands to combine aromatherapy and energy healing on a national scale evolving it into a world renowned award-winning company.  She is the co-author (along with Dr. LuLu Shimek) of Detox, Nourish, Activate:  Plant and Vibrational Medicine for Energy, Mood and Love. (Her co-authored book was a compilation of 20+ years of her written journals, formulas, thoughts and the backdrop of her healing sessions with her clients - what worked etc.) Adora shared that her story comes back to her journey of awakening and healing; finding out what her sole purpose and passion was, which was essentially working with plant medicine and vibrational medicine.  Through her finding a great deal of relief from her own personal journey in places where she suffered adversity that she carried, she found essential oils and then found energy medicine. Of course being inquisitive, she thought well, what would happen if I combine them together?  What would happen when the infused essential oils from a vibrational perspective because they are incredibly malleable?  She realized that they became not just a tool for transformation but a way that we can elevate our consciousness and expand our understanding of who we are in relationship to the world around us There is a history through our understanding of ourselves from a cellular level (Adora went into amazing detail!)  A journey of awakening, healing and the “healership” we attain . . . How are you going to find your “soul work”?   “Your Soul Work is Your Soul Work” (Adora Winquist) For our viewers and listeners who want to join the Adora Quantum Community, please click the link below: you so much Adora!  To learn more about Adora and to connect with her further, please check out her website and other various social media platforms: us know what you thought of today’s episode.  Please go to our website and leave us a voice message: www.TwoSistas.online

MindsetMonday - 07.25.22
TwoSistas and it’s MindsetMonday - and today was a mixed updated type of day - catching up from the weekend (still a heatwave in the Northeast) and how the start of the week (which is actually on a Sunday) sets the tone of the week.  We know mindset is everythings but how do you stay on track? Sometimes we tend to focus on things that do not set us up for success which disrupts the positive mindset.  That is life, life happens and it’s our reaction that really sets the tone.  Think of your hopes, goals and visions - are you supporting them? Today, Carroll-Sue posed a question - what is one word you thought of when you woke up this morning?  Janis’ word was “abundance”.  Carroll-Sue’s word was “joy”. When life gets in the way, as if often will, try simplifying your thoughts with a word of the day (or it may be a phrase) - whatever it is for you, that comforts you and helps you to focus on all that is good - it’s something that puts you back into that positive mindset! (As we were recording live to our Facebook page, Janis “froze” - we could still hear her but we only saw her reflection in the moment she was explaining why it’s not a good thing for your husband to tell you to cut vegetables a certain way - haha - you just have to listen in and by the way!) What is your favorite way to start your Monday?  How do you focus on your mindset?  What are some practices that you do on a daily basis that help you?  Share it with us!  Go to our website and leave us a voice message:

WealthWellnessWednesday with Tsao Lin Moy - 07.20.22
TwoSistas and today we welcomed Tsao Lin Moy on this  WealthWellnessWednesday!  Tsao is an Alternative and Chinese Medicine expert with over 20 years of experience in alternative and Chinese medicine. A licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, Tsao founded Integrative Healing Arts in NYC where she offers acupuncture, herbal medicine and energy healing to treat patients. Today’s conversation centered around the issues that many Americans are suffering such as stress, anxiety, immunity and sleep.  We all want to live a long, better life and for some reason, we are not making the mind, body and connection - in other words, listening and queuing into what our body is trying to communicate to us.  It’s about the connection. Connection to our bodies is vitally important.  When we make that “connection”, it will make a difference on how we create and cultivate our habits.  For instance, we gravitate toward and focus on the symptom and not the root cause.  For those suffering from sleep issues, we wake up feeling groggy and maybe in a bad mood.  We tend to reach for the cup of Java maybe a little too much while not acknowledging that the cause of how we feel when we wake up is related to how we slept and how we created our night time sleep hygiene.  (Janis shared her issues with sleep this past year.)  Our nervous system needs to be calmed.  (You can’t calm your nervous system when your mind goes into overload mode of your day’s events.) Tsao shared that if we are having sleep issues, it means that our Yin / Yan is out of balance.  When our Yin / Yan is out of balance our bodies have a difficult time creating Melatonin (the hormone of darkness); therefore, our nervous system does not have a chance to reset. Tsao also shared a suggestion to calm the nervous system:  the 4 / 7 / 8 method.  You take 4 breaths through the nose for 4 seconds; hold the breath for a count of 7 seconds; exhale forcefully through the mouth for 8 seconds.  (Janis has often practiced this method!) This was such an amazing conversation Tsao and we can’t thank her enough for being on today’s podcast!  To connect with Tsao further, please check out her website and connect further on her Instagram account and click on the link in her bio for her other social media platforms: us know what you thought of today’s episode.  Do you have sleep, stress, anxiety, or immunity issues?  How have you dealth with those issues?  What are some habits that you have established to assist you?  Please go to our website and leave us a voice message: www.TwoSistas.online

WealthWellnessWednesday with Sarah Thomas - 07.13.22
TwoSistas and it’s WealthWellnessWednesday with Sarah Thomas!  Sarah is a personal trainer, fitness instructor, nutrition coach, business mentor, wife, mom of three and the founder and CEO of Burn Fat and FEAST, a lifestyle program for women who feel stuck and frustrated with weight loss and overall well being. Burn Fat and FEAST provides a proven, step-by-step system that educates and empowers women to finally shed the excess weight, increase metabolism and stop the yo-yo dieting once and for all.  At Burn Fat and FEAST “BFF”) she coaches women to live life to the fullest by focusing on progress over perfection! She is passionate about teaching positive mindset, food freedom, metabolism adaptation, hormone balance and fat loss to women in their 30s and beyond with her BFF signature 3, 4, 5 approach for long term, sustainable fat loss. This approach gives my clients results without feeling deprived or getting stuck in a plateau. I’ve been featured in TV and magazine publications such as Nashville's Talk of the Town, Franklin Lifestyle, The Tennessean as well as on Podcasts and as a keynote speaker for national wellness and educational conferences across the country. Her passion stems from what she personally went through as a young girl, to her teens and then in her 20’s.  She shared that she always had a history or weight and an eating disorder.  She so desperately wanted to be “normal” that for her normal was being excessive.  In her teens, there was more “negative” than “positive” and she became anorexic and started over-exercising.  This was not only a journey of self-discovery but a journey of a relationship with nutrition and mental health. We discussed the “wellness” umbrella and everything that cultivates and mitigates under that umbrella.  From unrealistic perceptions, especially with social media, Sarah shared with great depth her healing journey of wellness under that umbrella and what that has meant to not only her, but to her 2 daughters as well. We then chatted about our relationship with the “scale” - you know that monstrous thing probably in the corner of your bathroom!  Our value as women (teens and men as well) is not the value of our weight number that pops up on the screen!  As Sarah so eloquently stated “it’s our body’s relationship to gravity (thank you Sarah; we’re sharing that one with our physician the next time they ask us to get on the scale!)  (1 pound of muscle and 1 pound of fat weigh the same - they just look different!) Progress over perfection - Sarah’s program empowers women to take ownership of their wellness and change the trajectory of obesity and disease by providing a roadmap to sustainable success and a support system every step of the way! Thank you so much Sarah!  To learn more about Sarah and to connect with her further, please check out her website and other social media platforms: do you feel about your progress over perfection and your body’s relationship to gravity?  Do you weigh yourselves every day (don’t!)?  Let us know what you thought of today’s episode.  Please go to our website and leave us a voice message: www.TwoSistas.online

MindsetMonday - I AM - 07.11.22
TwoSistas and it’s MindsetMonday!!  Are you worth it?  Hell yes you are!!  Part of the process of mindset is aligning or in most cases, realigning our focus.  Our perception is often meant from being pulled in too many directions - some of it on our own; some if not.  How do we begin a healthy mindset practice?  Basically, one step at a time!  (Ok, yea this is great but I honestly don’t have time to take care of myself!) We have been faced with this question ourselves and it’s taken us a long time to come up with what specifically works for us.  The best of practices is just to #1 start.  Look at your day, realistically and honestly.  For instance, are you guilty of waking up and scrolling your social media and therefore run out of time and are running around like a maniac trying to get ready?  We are guilty of this as well until we realize the “magic” of setting up ourselves for success! Simple starting tips - (be totally honest with yourself when doing this exercise): *Journal your day on exactly what you do throughout the day and for how long.  (Do this routine for at least (3) days to really view what you are doing and for how long.) *After the (3) days, look to see where you can clear the clutter.  (How much time are you wasting?) *Once you have completed the (3) days and have an accurate accounting of how you spend your time, if you have 15 - 30 minutes, start from there to work on your goal! How are you shaping your reality?  For more information on our MindsetTips and so much more, sign up for our updates on our website and let us know what you thought of today’s podcast.  Go to our website and leave us a voice message:
