I have heard the word 'excuses' all through my life. As a child it was hard to understand why something that was TRUE and that happened, was always just painted as an 'excuse'. Like sharing my reasons gave a sour taste to 'most'. Real reasons were unacceptable and minimized. As I'm older I have learned that it's HOW we use, what happens to us, is it a reason STOP in our tracks and then quit on our goals OR to recognize it's importance, if it needs to be given it's appropriate weight then and there and then still learning how to navigate through what happens to us. How you are encouraged is a way of knowing yourself. It is important to know what method of motivation, pushes you more towards the goals and vision in your life. Sometimes we have to create a distance from something not so motivating, even if it's not necessarily a bad thing, just not aligned to what we are striving for. We don't have to be pouty or have a complaining spirit though, after realizing what works for us and what doesn't. We can't take up emotions or mind space to complain or focus on the ones WHO DO receive motivation in other ways we don't. We just have to focus on what God has spoken over us and don't lose sight of the vision. If you feel like you're alone in your journey, its never a bad time to ask God to walk with you, to provide you with strength and peace. There are so many levels and depths to a person then accepting the common assumptions. YES!! if an opinion or perspective is given, give it the proper thought and analyzation to see how it does or does not apply to your life. Do this in wisdom, in God's wisdom, take it into prayer, but just don't immediately accept a negative anecdote about your character so quickly, take the proper process. Praying this blesses you.
