[Taking Full Ownership Series] Setting Effective Standards: How to Use the 5 Whys and What Does Good Look Like Analysis
It can be incredibly frustrating when you have this big idea in your head but it feels like it's still in "la la land" and you're not quite sure how to bring it to life. That's where a standard comes in. It's the key to taking your vision and making it something tangible and achievable. And there's one exercise that I've found to be extremely helpful in bringing that vision to life: the "5 Why" exercise. It's simple but powerful in giving you a better understanding of the problem and will help you come up with a solution. But, once you clearly understand the vision, it's not over yet. The next step is to build the rest of the standard - and this is where the real work comes in. You'll need to consider scope, definitions, procedures, and references. And most importantly, you have to ask yourself "what does good look like?" so that you can set clear and achievable goals. If you found this episode helpful, be sure to check out the rest of the episodes in our "Taking Full Ownership" series.   * Practice the "5 Why's Exercise": https://www.thecreatorsattache.com/the-five-whys *"What Does Good Look Like?"
