Life In Business Podcast

Libby Langley

There is so much pressure in the online world to be a Boss Babe CEO (a what?!), or a Biz Babe (please no), or to hustle 24/7, and if you really hate the thought of all that, then Life in Business is for you! I started this podcast to make a difference. To tell you and your fellow business owners that there is an easier way to grow a business. There is a kinder way. There is a gentler way. There’s a way to do it without feeling guilty, or inadequate, or like you’re doing it all wrong. I’m Libby Langley, and I am a coach and mentor who has ‘been there and done that’ more times than I care to count since I started my business in 2011. I’m also someone who, quite frankly, is tired of all the noise out there (yes Instagram gurus, I mean you!) and wants to empower a movement of female business owners to do it the way they want to, but in the kindest and most loving way possible. Every week, Life in Business supports you to make small tweaks, to be confident in your business decisions, to say no to things you “should” be doing, and to make a healthy and guilt-free profit doing exactly what you love the most. Thank you so much for listening. Please don’t forget to subscribe to, or follow this podcast, so you don’t miss any future episodes :-) I’d love for you to say hi on Instagram. I’m @libbylangley. If you’re anything like me, you have about a hundred new ideas every day. That’s great! But please don’t act on ALL of them. 9: #9 Stop Cold Pitching In The DMs And Do This Instead
Don’t you just hate it when you receive a cold pitch? You know, that copy-and-paste email or DM, where it’s clear from the start that the person didn’t visit your profile or bother to learn anything about what you do or who your clients are. So despite all the social media gurus telling you that you must be chasing your ideal clients in their DMs, I say: “It’s time to ditch the cold pitch, bish!” There is a better way to find clients and grow your business than annoying people with cold pitches that will just end up being deleted anyway. In today’s podcast episode I tell you more about that, so listen as I share with you why I would never recommend sending out cold pitches to my clients, what I would recommend instead, a recent experience I had with cold pitching that left a sour taste in my mouth but I learned a lot from, and much more! In this episode, I chat about: Why I don’t recommend cold pitching in the DMsWays that you can use DMs to make friends and get clientsAn experience with a cold pitch I received that inspired me to record this episodeHow I responded to that cold pitchMy process and timeline of working with clientsA few tips and my approach to cold pitching via DMsThe quicker and easier way to grow your business  Resources from this episode: ConvertKit Connect with Libby: Instagram: @libbylangley LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/libbylangley Book - Life In Business: www.libbylangley.com/book Website: www.libbylangley.com Schedule a free strategy call with me: www.libbylangley.com/call  Quote “Cold pitching in the DMs is a surefire way to piss people off, and it's not gonna get you any clients.”

I doubt there is anyone in this world who has never faced imposter syndrome before. Every single person experiences it in some shape or form at some point in their life. Sometimes it can be mild. Other times it can be crippling. As business owners, we are more likely to deal with imposter syndrome, because, let’s be honest, when we have low moments, instead of looking for healthy ways to look after our mental health, we often turn to social media. I have gone through some dark moments myself and I learned A LOT about myself from those times. That’s why in today’s podcast episode, I talk about imposter syndrome and what it is, where it comes from, how to fight it and I give you a few practical ways to support yourself in dealing with it. Get ready because today’s podcast episode is a juicy one!
