Today’s issue of The End - the 22nd - has ten shows in the Recently Completed section. Three of them published their final episodes last week.

• Strange Matter, a dramatized science fiction show from Joey Gutierrez, posted the Season 1 finale on 30 Jan 2023. It has 6 episodes and a listening time of 1h 27m. Season 2 starts in Jun 2023.
• Blood & Gold, a dramatized thriller from Realm, concluded the entire series on 26 Jan 2023, with 16 episodes, and a listening time of 11h 41m.
• Dark Heights, a narrated horror series also from Realm, posted the finale of their second season on 26 Jan 2023. Its episodes have a total listening time of 17h 57m. Season 3, I’m told, is coming soon.

This Week

This week, and every week, I made two personal recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love.

If creepy, edge-of-your-seat stories are what you’re into, I recommend The Burned Photo, a dramatized horror thriller from QCODE. It’s complete at the series levelm with 2 seasons, 14 episodes, and a total listening time of 9h 46m

My second recommendation delivers, to my ears, an intense and immersive experience. It’s American Hostage, a dramatized thriller from Amazon Music | Criminal Content | Wondery. The entire series is complete with 8 episodes clocking in at 3h 30m of total listening time.

Next Week

The latest issue of The End highlights four fiction podcasts returning with new seasons coming soon. And all of them return next week. They are:

• The Skylark Bell, a narrated drama by Melissa Oliveri | Phaeton Starling Publishing, returns on 3 Feb 2023 for Season 3. There are 68 current episodes for a total listening time of 16h 42m.
• Breathing Space, a Dramatized scifi anthology from Law of Names Media, will start its 3rd season also on Feb 3rd. There are 30 current episodes for a total listening time of 21h 03m.
