054: How to Merge Technology and Genuine Connections
The question is, can we as humans compete with technology? Especially AI.One of my clients uses Chat GPT for everything. A friend of mine talks to Siri all day long. She uses it like you, and I may have used 411 to gather phone numbers and make dinner reservations.I don't use AI to write my content. But I do use a tool that transcribes my podcast episodes. Because I am all about time management and productivity, it helps me find those identifiable moments that I want to highlight in my audiograms and the show notes. In this week's episode of "The Power Of The Pivot," I am talking to Greg Wasserman, an AI expert. He and I talked about how AI when used properly, can elevate your productivity and give you the tools to repurpose your content most innovatively and efficiently. Taking your long-form content and breaking it down into smaller soundbites can save one hour of time creating social media posts, audiograms, LinkedIn newsletters, and so much more.Episode Highlights:4:46|Supporting others and connecting them by bringing their products together5:19|Podcast is hosts who support each other in growing their audience10:09|Streamlining your podcast production through Cast Magic11:10|Automating long-form content into short-form content14:00|Ai is here to assist and not meant to replace humans.21:05|Why Ai will never replace relationships27:07|The importance of community and leaning into discomfort to grow and innovate28:09|Engage! 053: How one Word can Inspire your Vision for Success in 2024
Every December, I sit down with the women in my mastermind, and we pick our word for the following year. Before we do that, we reflect back on the word of the previous year and see how it may have inspired our growth and creativity. My words for 2023 were opportunity and expansion. Some years, my word never manifests. The obstacles and challenges that I was faced with didn't leave any room to inspire anything because at every corner and turn, there was a roadblock. But 2023 was different. I started the year determined and ready to create massive shifts. I was no longer going to allow the past failures to define me, and I came into it with a willingness to believe that change would manifest. In March, I was invited to spend a week with 25 women, most of whom I didn't know. This happened to be the same time as the Spring Equinox. My friend, Nicole, an energy healer and spiritual guru was on that trip. Together, we did an exercise. I truly believe that exercise brought me to where I am today. There is power in words. Both positive words and negative words and it's important to pay close attention to what you say and how you say it. This week on the podcast, I didn't have one guest...I had 7. Seven powerful, creative, and brilliant ladies came together to discuss our words of the year. After producing 53 episodes, I have to say this is one of my top three. It represents that when you put a bunch of women in the room, it vibrates. Here are a few takeaways:📍Relationships are both learning and teaching moments📍Persistence propels you to keep moving forward📍Learning to leave behind what no longer serves you so that you create space for what will📍Build it (with intention) and they will come📍EHow future pacing gets you to your next destinationEpisode Highlights:2:03|Bringing everyone together in community6:43|Relationships are both learning and teaching moments8:30|Future pace where one wants to be by the end of 202411:39|Feeling the connection to one's work and the people who support it12:56|Persistence propels you to keep moving forward19:08|Build it and they will come23:39|Your energy is everything27:23|Leaving 2023 behind with the intention to gain space for more in 202429:00|There is no margin for terrorLinks:Shirley Lipner InstagramLaurey Levy InstagramHeather Hartt Sussman InstagramSheryl Wachtel InstagramStacy Valner InstagramMary Williams InstagramCatherine Hendry InstagramVisit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

052: Micah Siva’s Path to Monetizing Her Food Blog: Embracing Jewish Identity Through Food
I have two sets of friends - those that cook and those that don't.There is minimal grey area when it comes to what goes on in the kitchen.I, as you know, love to be in the kitchen. I delegate many other things, but cooking is not one of them.As a former food blogger, I am in awe of those in the food blogging community who found their way to massive monetization. My guest this week, Micah Siva, has done just that - and so much more. And the best part about it is that she has only been at this game for about six years. Her passion, grit, and tenacious spirit have paid off, and being the Everready bunny that could - she has accomplished so much. But what makes Micah genuinely unique is how specific her niche is. Her plant-based recipes are all inspired by modern Jewish culture, and I have to tell you - I cannot wait to get her book to make her meatless brisket. I know that doesn't make sense, but I am intrigued.Micah and I talk about so much. We talk about food, recipe development, and how blogging has changed so much in recent years. But we also get into the current state of affairs. And as Jewish women and moms(and mom-to-be), how passionate and proud we are to be Jews. Not only will this episode make you hungry, but with Hannukah right around the corner, you might be inspired to whip a batch of Sufganiyot (Israeli doughnuts).Episode Highlights05:48 | How to monetize one's creative outlet06:12 | The power of perseverance and not allowing failure to stop you 08:30 | The power of networking and putting yourself out there - even when it's uncomfortable12:31 | Diversifying income streams and exploring various avenues to maximize financial stability15:55 | Embracing a specific niche to stand out in a crowded playing field17:36 | Staying authentic to who you are will ultimately protect your mental health24:56 | Doing a self-published Jewish children’s cookbook became an excellent way to connect with the community.35:54 | Jews are the O.G.’s of dairy replacements and how creating vegan, Jewish recipes was not that challenging. 051: Redefining Cannabis and Merging it with Jewish Humor: My Conversation with Tokin’ Jew

051: Redefining Cannabis and Merging it with Jewish Humor: My Conversation with Tokin’ Jew
As someone who prefers to smoke my buzz, I am not surprised by how mainstream it's becoming. Although still very much an uncomfortable or taboo subject, I would say that 90% of those in my inner sphere eat some dose of edible, have a favorite strain of Indica or Sativa, or even grow it.This week on the podcast, I sit down with the CEO of Tokin Jew, a full-fledged loud and proud stoner who has found a beautiful and humourous way to merge Judaism and Cannabis. We get candid about the stigma surrounding Cannabis and how we see that changing. With the conversations getting louder and louder around micro-dosing and other mind-altering options, Cannabis is becoming a topic of choice.Because of that, Tokin' Jew is not only creating an incredibly creative line of products developed from a Jewish perspective, but their Instagram feed is worthy of serious "laugh out loud" moments. For that reason, he is creating a community of like-minded, engaged humans. This movement has grown from a few thousand on Instagram to over 37k in just under a year. From a business strategist POV, that's some pretty incredible metrics.Whether you are into Cannabis or not, I feel you will enjoy this episode. You will learn how one straight-A, very driven college student and D1-national soccer star tapped into his creative and entrepreneurial side from his dorm room and not only landed a tremendous mainstream job but is also building an unconventional business at the same time. Highlights:5:05|How to not be one dimensional and merge passion and play to create community.5:45|Overcoming adversity and finding your identity.7:15|Creating Token Jew as a community of half-stoners and half-Jews who have found the intersection between cannabis and Judaism.9:58|Being in the flux of the changing perception of cannabis from a taboo subject to a normalized one.13:01|How lighting a joint and then lighting the menorah led the founder and his buddy to the 3D lab where the first product was born.16:38|How to embrace being a straight-A student, a D1 Soccer star, and a stoner.18:12|The birth of being an entrepreneur started at age 10 with a rolling list of ideas.24:41|Parents and grandparents are coming out of the closet and admitting to embracing the cannabis trends and helping to normalize it.25:15|The stigma around cannabis, a plant that grows out of the ground compared to other plants like carrots and asparagus.27:07|The benefits of having a side project that unlocks a different part of their brain, making their day-to-day work more accessible and more enjoyable.29:01|Judaism is the religion of curiosity.30:29 |Learning when to shut down and who to shut out in order to avoid burnout.31:34|Don’t share your idea with anybody yet, some people love to detract people.33:30|Without the community, Tokin Jew would not be Tokin Jew.34:23|Taking Tokin Jew to this beautiful, modern brand that is rooted in community.40:29|Fall back on your instincts.44:07|Using your intuition, finding a loyal person, remain super loyal to them.Links:Tokin’ Jew Instagram here  Tokin’ Jew Website hereTokin’ Jew OneTable hereVisit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

048: How Relationships Shape Our Well-Being with Joleen Porcaro Duddy: The importance of community in Aging
Relationships and friendships are rooted in my emotional state. They can easily affect how I feel or don’t feel. And because so many of mine have stood the test of time, I take them very seriously. It was both this article and my new position at OneTable that sparked this week's podcast episode. This quote, in particular, struck a chord with me:"Countless studies in the last several decades have revealed information about longevity that may surprise you: Social connections don't just improve your life emotionally, but physically and psychologically as well."There was no better person to have this conversation with than my long-time best friend, Joleen Porcaro Duddy. Joleen and I met at the beginning of middle school (over 50 years ago), and I honestly could not imagine a life without Joleen in it.This week's episode discusses the value of connection, community, and being a good friend and confidant. We get under the hood about family, loss, tragedy, and how seeing her mom living in an assisted living environment has inspired her to think about aging in a whole new way. As someone who has always valued building a strong community centered around loyal friends, I am leaning more and more toward this as I settle into the aging process. When faced with a few health challenges, I got a bird's eye view of who my people were, and no one was more present than Joleen.Highlights5:42| The impact of community on aging6:49 | How strong connections keep your life vibrant and alive11:22 | It’s not just about building a business relationship, it’s more about building community with intention19:25 | All friendships are not the same - each one has their meaning and purpose18:45| The critical building block in a good company is trust24:59| What tragedy and loss teach and how to move through life with a new normal34:45| Strong relationships and bonds are built on honesty and finding ways to offer constructive criticism without putting someone on the defensive41:07| The most outstanding example of friendship was witnessing the one with her mom and dadLinks:Check out Joleen’s Instagram here.Visit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

047: Emotional Exhaustion and Self-Care: How Melissa Meyers pivoted in her 50s
This week on the podcast, Melissa Meyers and I discuss what it takes to build an online space in your 50s and how it’s not always easy. The hard part is staying focused and not giving up even when all the doors are closing in your face. And that requires grit, tenacity, and drive to take you to the finish line. Melissa’s passion for clean living and the products she has used over the years to do that in all areas of her life has allowed her to build a platform where she can inspire others. And because of that, she is earning over 6-figures each year. It's not a terrible chunk of change for a woman who shares what she knows and is passionate about. 046: Dear Resume - You’re Dead To Me: How being pithy will help you stand out.
When did you last update your resume? If you are anything like me, you have multiple versions of the same thing buried in Google Drive. Because the resume is dead, it's time to find a new and improved way of showing others that your value deserves to be recognized. And that is challenging to do on a single sheet of paper. This week on the podcast, I sit down with Julie Sandler-Sacks, who has made her career out of advertising, first as a copywriter and then as a recruiter. I asked her to wear both hats in our conversation, and I am confident you will like what you hear.As a career professional and an entrepreneur, I know the value of telling your story while giving others a behind-the-scenes peak at how awesome you are. But that piece of paper gets me every time. It's a buzz kill! It never truly highlights your strengths, and at the end of the day, no one gets a sense of who you are by chronologically reading your accomplishments. As a recruiter, Julie's perspective is on the money! When it came time for me to toss my hat in the ring for the position I ultimately captured, Julie said, "let's create a non-traditional resume for a non-traditional candidate. And it worked!!Highlights5:08|How advertising has changed to become more sales-oriented6:33|Why it’s important and encouraged to try different jobs10:01|Generally, your resume doesn’t show much and what to do instead12:07|Non-traditional way of writing your resume: be unique, creative, yet cautious18:40|LinkedIn is a helpful place to find information and create connections23:14|You can’t rely on your resume alone. 044: Retirement? Not So Fast! Baby Boomers Capitalizing on New Opportunities
The conversations around community, belonging, and connection have been a common theme lately.Research shows that many baby boomers, 55 or older - about 50% did retire in 2021. Which was inspired by the pandemic. Believe it or not, today, they are making their way back to the workforce.Another fun fact, half of the boomers in the workplace hold leadership positions. And because I am now one of them, I agree with some of the research that I have been reading. There is a tremendous need for our knowledge and our mentorship. In this episode, I share some insights into how people our age are not slowing down anytime soon and why our demographic is the biggest untapped market out there. In addition, the sense of belonging and community is top of mind and because of that, I have a few ways we can all cultivate that.Episode Highlights:3:55|Baby boomers thriving in a digital world5:03|Women who are my age are still on fire.6:41|Sharing one's expertise and wisdom with a big dose of confidence8:46|Finding the purpose and the why behind what the next 20 or 30 years might look like9:12|Half the baby boomers in the workplace hold leadership positions9:44|Coming together virtually, finding people we have in common with10:13|How to rebuild and restore a sense of community after being physically apart13:10|Find your people, surround yourself with people who are dreaming even bigger than you areVisit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

042: Fu%k You Cancer: Finding Motivation in the Face of Adversity
When did life become so hard?As a little girl, fantasized about what my life would be like one day, never would I have imagined a world where there was so much hate (I am sure you have read about the woman in Lake Arrowhead who displayed a pride flag - simply to support ALL people, only to be shot and killed by some fucking lunatic), a deeply ignorant and divided country, or that disease and illness would be plaguing so many. And the disease I am specifically talking about is Cancer. This week's episode of the podcast was an impromptu conversation with myself inspired by a text from a good friend.I was minding my own business when she texted me about her 29-year-old son who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer.WTF...he's 29!During our 45-minute text conversation, she confessed to not being able to eat or sleep. Understandably so!And that got me thinking more about self-care and how women like you and I put ourselves, our well-being, and our health aside to care for everyone around us. It's selfless and brave and the more I marinated this, the more I embraced the importance of those simple daily rituals that I try and practice every morning. In this week’s episode, I am sharing how I got through my cancer diagnosis, why believing in the power of connecting your heart, mind, and soul can be the answer to positivity, and why I don’t want you to wait for something tragic to happen in order for you to pursue your dreams.Visit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

041: Juggling Responsibilities: Career and Family in the Face of Mortality
Since the beginning of time, women have not been given the credit they deserve when doing the most incredible job balancing family, child raising, career, being the number one caregiver, and cheerleader. All while placing ourselves on the sideline. And when we do say "f this shit," it can be viewed as selfish or "narcissistic."Actually, in my opinion, it's just the opposite. It's time to put you first unapologetically. You've done your job. And a really good job at that - regardless of what your kids and partners have to say about it.In this week's episode, I talk to Stephanie Hunt, the mastermind behind the brand and design firm, Flare Hunter about family, sacrifice, loss, and raising a son who took her on a journey she never saw coming. While on that journey she had to do a lot of soul-searching to find the balance. What she ended up finding were opportunities to see the world, and experience new cultures, which all inspired her creativity and her career. Balancing travel and personal life required adaptability and finding a sense of grounding amidst constant change. And that, my friend, is why Stephanie is the dynamic change agent that she is today.Highlights4:29| Marriage, traditional family, interior design, career pivot, passionate about office design13:04| Making enormous sacrifices for family, finding balance.24:04| Burnout is unavoidable, especially when you are constantly serving others and ignoring yourself26:19| Becoming the expert and stepping into fashion collaborations, including socks.30:12| How the loss of a parent can change the perception of age and one’s mortality.36:31| The benefits of mentoring young designers and the number one advice is to embrace creativity and ignore the noise.37:51|Learn from people who know more than you do even if it is not your style and doesn’t look exactly like you because your look, tastes, and preferences evolve.Links: Visit Stephanie's Website here Check out Stephanie's Instagram hereVisit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

040: Age Is Just A Number: Manifesting Dreams and Seizing Unexpected Opportunities
You know what pisses me off? When conversing with someone, and they tell me that I am "overqualified," why is no one inviting me to sit at their table? And if you have been in situations like that yourself, it's no wonder that women our age feel invisible, valueless, and hopeless.Well, I am here to tell you to shut that noise down because at 62 F'n years old, I have landed the opportunity of a lifetime! And you know what? If I can manifest this, so can you.In this week's episode, I am getting raw and vulnerable on how this all went down and, more importantly, what it feels like to dream big unapologetically. The reason why I am sharing all of this with you is because I have been known to be a bit of a nay-sayer when it comes to words like "manifestation" and "be careful what you wish for." Instead, I look at getting shit done more practically, thus why I created the What's Next Roadmap planning system. Which has helped me prioritize both the small and the big stuff. But this past March, I was away with 25 fabulous humans in a very remote part of Baja, and it was an exercise during the Spring Equinox with my friend and healer, Nicole, changed everything.I share the entire story in this episode, and if you are currently thinking about your next stage and phase, I can guarantee that this episode will inspire you.Episode Highlights2:37|Women our age are often told we are overqualified for a job that makes us feel invisible, valueless, and even hopeless. 6:54|Using a planning system, I could break down my dreams, wishes, and desires, prioritize them into bite-sized actions, and focus on all six small actions each day, week, and month.8:37|An exercise during the Spring Equinox encouraged me to write down what I wanted to manifest over the next year using the prompts: I am, and I choose. 10:55|Being offered an opportunity of this magnitude is life-changing.13:26|Validation only happens when one can take someone else to the places they deserve to be. 14:43|Write what you want, don't hold back. Make it personal to you because if you can do that, then everyone around you will benefit. Start a daily, weekly, and even monthly practice of writing down your desire.Visit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

039: Rewriting the Narrative: Empowering Women in the Aging Process with Lori Kleiman
Have you ever really taken the time to look back on your life without regret, with appreciation, and with deep and meaningful love for yourself? It's not an easy task, especially for most of you that have spent your entire life, taking care of others. As women who are in their 50s and 60s, it can be challenging to say to yourself, "I am important" and sometimes the only way to do that is to tell everyone around you (even though you love and adore them), to go F themselves. My guest this week, Lori Kleiman, didn't tell her people to go take a hike, but instead took some time to embrace the value of alignment and living a life that is consistent with what truly matters. And what truly matters to her are her children and grandchildren, family rituals, and being a qualified expert who can genuinely help others.Lori is a minimalist and certified professional coach who is a huge supporter of the pro-aging movement. More importantly, she is the perfect role model, showing others that you can do hard and bold things - even in your 60s.However, her path to here was not a straight line. In her mid 50's she was questioning everything and knew that there was a better way to glide into this next phase of her life. This week's episode explores the significance of seeking help from professional coaches to gain perspective and excel in all the layers of one's life. Including making money, living purposefully, achieving work-life balance, and navigating career journeysHere are a few takeaways:📍why coaches need coaches📍how family and weekly traditions keep one balanced📍framing work in a way that supports being of service to others📍going back to your roots and tapping into your purpose - at any ageHighlightsThe What’s Next Roadmap was the guiding light to hone Lori’s clarity instead of looking at the shiny objects around her and start focusing on how to build her business. How our clients are the perfect mirror for us to become the expert they deserve. A coach needs a coach, a thought leader, and a partner to work things through. The 360 Review is the perfect performance review for solopreneurs and creatives. It is a reflective exercise done every year to reflect on the accomplishments and failures over the year. The value of aligning your work with your values in life so that you can focus on your passions. How to tap into your desire zone and delegate that which is in your dread zone. How 60 is the new 30.Links:Lori Kleiman WebsiteVisit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

038: Achieving Clarity in a Digital World and How to Simplify Your Tech Stack
It's never an easy decision to create change. If you think you're alone - you are not. Not sure if it's an age thing or a confidence thing, or it's just the sign of the times. But the possibility of building something from nothing is far more doable today than ever before. Back in the day, one needed a 200-page business plan which had to include data, numbers, graphs, and pie charts. I know this because when I was approached to scale my global lifestyle brand, the women who approached me were way more corporate. I can still see the spiral bound booklet, title and all, with how they thought they could take my business to the next level.Today, with access to social media, experts who say they can help you with whatever it is you might need help with, and with the influx of online digital tools, platforms, and apps, it's easier today than ever before to create something. But the truth is - it's not easy. Instead, it's confusing. In this week's episode of Get Your Shit Together, I am sharing 5 digital tools that will help you eliminate the overwhelm and the white noise that can take you off course. The best part about all of them, they are FREE! So, if you are just starting out or are ready to take your ideas to the next level, the FREE stuff is where it's at. And it will help and serve you until you feel comfortable upgrading to some of the paid options. Episode Highlights 3:05|According to statistics, the average person receives 75 gigabytes of information per day, equivalent to about 32 hours of content clouding your brain and about 12 to 14 feature films. 4:40 |Shiny Object Syndrome is a dangerous place to be. And unfortunately, social media is really good at seducing you into feeling like you're not enough, you need more.7:56 |If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If the current tool used works well for you, don't get sucked in or seduced by the latest and greatest9:55 |Establish your ultimate destination, the endgame, so that you can chart out the milestone or the step-by-step actions along the way.12:35 |Your email list is your real estate, it is your biggest asset.15:27 |My motto is to never stop dreaming. That's where the magic comes from.17:46 |Create your systems, and know how to manage your platforms whether it's a website, your social media feed, or an email service provider.18:18 |Know in your heart and in your gut what it is you truly want, decide what is going to be your treasure chest full of your goodness at the end of your customer journey map. 036: Lessons Learned-Pre Google + Social Media
Did you know that the average attention span of someone around the age of 50 is about 8.25 seconds? That's 4.25 seconds less than what it was in the year 2000.FYI - a goldfish has a 9-second attention span - that's .75 seconds longer than ours! With data like that, no wonder it's becoming more and more difficult to attract your customers and community online. As we all move further and further away from an analog world and into a hyper-elevated digital world, it's more critical than ever before to craft your messaging in a way that speaks directly to who it is meant for.And with an average attention span of 8.25 seconds, that first impression - the one someone sees when they land on your website or discover in your social media profiles - is the most critical one.In this week's episode of The Power Of the Pivot, I lay out the blueprint for crafting your customer roadmap so you can better lead and guide your people to the final destination. Whether that destination is a physical product, a program, a service, or a free offer, it's up to you to tell them exactly where to go. And what can make or break your customer's buying decision are the touchpoints along the way.Episode Highlights 2:18 | Remove the “I” and “Me” from the equation and focus on “You and Them.”5:14 | Create a customer journey map, take control of every touch point, and don’t leave it up to chance.7:27 | From the first touch point with a customer, it turned into a thousand touch points and a bond and friendship that is unbreakable.8:37 | People want to be led and be told what to do and how to do it. Guide them through the process, that is the customer journey.10:27 | 5 tips to help you tune up your business and start to think about what you want your customer to feel, hear, and see.16:08 | Try, try, try, and try again. This is constantly going to be about figuring it out. Keep testing and just because one thing doesn't work, doesn't mean the whole thing won't work. 19:13 | X marks the spot, that's where you start. Lead them to your treasure chest that holds the riches of your expertise, your knowledge, and your talents.Visit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders

035: Finding Your Unique Selling Proposition: Secrets to Standing Out in a Saturated Market
Would you categorize yourself as a member of the “Sandwich Generation?”Someone over 50, stuck in between your grown or launched children and your aging parents? If you are, organizing multiple areas of your life can get complicated. Not to mention those tough conversations, between you and your parents, about their state of affairs. In this week’s spotlight episode of The Power Of The Pivot, I chatted with Mary Williams about how she found her super niche in the crowded real estate industry. When she first pivoted into her new career (at the beginning of the pandemic), one of the first questions I asked her was, “How are you going to stand out?” And “What is going to make you different from the rest?”It wasn’t until she was faced with navigating the probate process with her own parent’s estate that she realized that the lessons she learned could help so many others. In this week’s spotlight episode of The Power Of The Pivot, I chatted with Mary Williams about how she found her super niche in the crowded real estate industry. When she first pivoted into her new career (at the beginning of the pandemic), one of the first questions I asked her was, “How are you going to stand out?” And “What is going to make you different from the rest?”It wasn’t until she was faced with navigating the probate process with her own parent’s estate that she realized that the lessons she learned could help so many others.Highlights:7:20 - The importance of systems which are the main foundation for any business, especially in staying organized11:04 - Being prepared and going through the  Trust and Probate process with loved ones requires a specialist who knows what they are doing19:43 - The importance of connection and peers from supportive women who have other points of view and perspectives.24:54 - how being a taskmaster is a really good thing and the importance of knowing when to listen.33:12 - There is so much value in mentoring and coaching and if one can look at it as part of their systems, it becomes part of their everyday ritualsLinks:Visit Mary's websiteFollow Mary on LinkedInVisit Susan’s websiteFollow Susan on InstagramJoin the What’s Next RoadmapJoin The Social SquadAutomate - A Guide For On-Line Digital MarketersDownload Tap Into It - A FREE guide for business builders
