Our Editor's Take

Whose Turn Is It Anyway? is a podcast made for board game fans. In the show, ten friends join together to share their love of board games with the community. In each episode, the gaming group gets together to talk about what they're playing. They also spend time answering questions from listeners. These are often on essential game-related topics, such as the best snacks for a lengthy board game session!

Anyone new to the podcast gets invited to join the team's gaming group. As with a typical gaming structure, each Whose Turn Is It Anyway? episode has a first-player approach. The host role rotates each time, each offering various topics on different games. Each episode starts with the “Let's talk about Dex” segment. This part can include anything from favorite games to who has backstabbed who in a recent game. The main topic follows, focusing on a particular game or any new games on the market.

With such an extensive gaming group, the podcast shares about all levels of games. There are challenging games for listeners who are more advanced board game fans. There are some simpler games for anyone new to board gaming or more of a casual player.

Throughout the podcast, listeners will get to know each group member. JP is the group's organizer and loved playing board games as a child. He started with Monopoly, although the team has debated how worthy it now is within the board game genre. Rob had only played video games until JP invited him to play Netrunner with him. He immediately fell in love. Becky was an only child and enjoyed playing board games with her family. She is an impatient gamer, so she only enjoys games that don't keep her waiting.

With more gamers to get to know, listeners will enjoy hearing everyone's gaming stories. What's most compelling about this podcast is the obvious camaraderie throughout every episode. It's a welcoming group sharing plenty of gaming inspiration. Gaming fans of all levels may enjoy the Whose Turn Is It Anyway? podcast.
