Imbolc on Feb 2nd is one of the four principal festivals of the Irish calendar, celebrated among Gaelic peoples and some other Celtic cultures either at the beginning of February or at the first local signs of Spring. Most commonly, it is celebrated on February 2 since this is the cross-quarter day on the solar calendar, halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere. Originally dedicated to the goddess Brigid, in the Christian period, it was adopted as St Brigid’s Day. It is also Candlemas and Groundhogs Day.
This week we look at the correspondence for February and the Full Moon. Our weekly Oracle reading is from Wisdom of the Oracle by Colette Baron-Reid. Moon is void, of course, Monday from 12:52 AM - 3:35 AM, Wednesday from 6:58 AM - 3:11 PM, and Saturday from 1:19 AM to 3:48 AM. Full Moon Sunday at 1:29 PM. Finally, the spells of the week with exceptionally strong energy for manifesting.
