”There were a golf course with 18 holes, between Talpiot, a jewish settlement and the Arab College, where I was staying. We always crossed that golf course to catch the bus from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. We saw girls and boys, women and men, in the forest at Talpiot. They were an army doing their drills. It was forboding what was going to happen. It was in the air. The animosity was already there. This is in 1941”, says Munther Al-Fahoum, born 1927 in Irbid, Jordan. Photo: Shereen Na'nish. Recorded in Amman, 2019.
