What do you most regret? Chances are, it's something you've not done.   When you're younger, you have equal amounts of regrets about things you've done and things you avoided doing.   As you get older, your inaction regrets outnumber your action regrets 2 to 1.   That's according to author Daniel Pink, in his book The Power of Regret.   Take the Next Simple toward learning from your regrets and having a bias for action.   The best way to learn most anything is by doing it. Everything is figureoutable. Just be okay with having a few regrets along the way.   As Pink suggets, to maximize our productive regrets: 1. Look inward: Reframe how you think about your regrets. You speak to yourself more cruelly than you speak to anyone else. Practice self-compassion. 2. Look outward: Share your emotions! Make sense of your regret through talking or writing morning pages. 3. Move forward: Extract a lesson from your regret. Take action! When you have to make a big decision, try these 3 simple steps:   1. Have a clear mind, be well rested, and H.A.L.T. Don't make any decision when you are hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. 2. Have a clear definition of what you truly want and success looks like. Will you regret this decision or not making it a year or 5 years from now? 3. Give yourself a deadline for making the decision.
