He currently holds roles at both Harvard Business School and Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Teaching Fellow & Research Associate at Harvard Business School, he serves as a “thought partner” to Prof. Matthew Weinzierl (Senior Associate Dean, and Chair of MBA Program), leading the School’s growing space research, and teaching in the HBS classroom. As a Senior Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, he leads acquisition strategy development for space systems at Space Systems Command, supporting military programs through critical acquisition milestones; his role at Booz Allen also involves strategy and business development for the firm’s space business, including as Proposal Manager for a successful contract win with a new client. Prior experiences include space-focused consulting in Washington D.C., crafting national space policy in Congress, aerospace startups, and astrophysical research. Mr. Rosseau was an honors student from a top-ranked college with majors in both astronomy and economics; his academic work has emphasized research on the commercial space industry, including authoring publications in The Harvard Business Review, Harvard Business Publishing, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the American Astronomical Society (AAS). His work and opinions have appeared in popular media, such as PBS’s NOVA, Newsweek, The Washington Post, Harvard Magazine, and The Space Show. Scott is deeply involved in strategic planning, business development, product management, and software development. But at any given moment Scott is also supporting program management, production operations, concept incubation, community outreach & evangelism, industry mentorship, customer service, and investment activities. What a cool job! Scott has spent most of his career developing and deploying Remote Sensing, Imagery Analysis, Sensor Fusion, Knowledge Management, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the National Security community. Before becoming the CEO of Cognitive Space, Scott was the CTO at BlackSky, a satellite analytics company that recently IPO’d as the latest “New Space unicorn”. As the current Chief Scientific Officer for Rhodium Scientific, he leads initiatives to expand terrestrial and spaceflight research capacities into the commercial biotechnology sector. Over the past six years in the commercial space industry, Dr. Mills has been a Principal Investigator and co-Investigator on over 20 International Space Station science and engineering projects funded privately and by the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health and the ISSNL. Recently, Mills was appointed to the ISSNL User Advisory Committee to serve on the Technology Development Subcommittee.With academic degrees from Duke University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, Dr. Mills has over 19 years’ experience studying extreme environment ecosystems from a biogeochemical perspective. He has published over 40 publications that have collected more than 1800 citations, where he used advanced molecular techniques to characterize microbial community structure and function from locations across and beneath the Earth.
