Perfectionism is officially infamous — it is now one of the most popular responses to the interview question “What is your biggest weakness?”. It is quite likely that perfectionism is assumed to be a strength that manifests as a weakness, hence desirable and safely sharable in a job interview. However, even as we tout perfectionism as weakness, most of us have not spent the time to realize its true perils. Many of us fall into the trap of perfectionism.
