Next-Gen Takeover: Discovering God’s Voice & Calling
Tune into this special next-gen season finale episode about God's calling, limiting beliefs, hearing God’s voice, and even some fun slang terms. So Good Moments: Colossians 3:17 says that whatsoever you do, do it for God’s glory. While it’s easy to spend a lot of energy on that one little thing, we need to think more about the “whatsoever” part. God may assign you to certain things for a season. You might not like all the assignments you’ve been given, but if you’re faithful in those little things, God won’t let you miss out on your calling. While your calling is personal, it’s also a collective call. You’re not intended to live out your calling as an individual, but as a collective. God uses His Word, His people, and His Spirit to speak into your life. Know the difference between success and fruitfulness. We have a speaking God who wants to direct your path. Discussion Questions: What jumped out to you about today’s podcast with Pastor Julie and the three next-gen leaders? Pastor Julie talked about the difference between your calling and your assignment. What assignment has God given you in this season? What is something that you wish was spoken over you when you were younger? What is your collective calling? Who has God called you to live out your calling with?Have you had a burning bush moment in your everyday, ordinary life? What is one new next-gen word you learned from today’s episode? Resources: Get There FirstPray for a Student or KidShownotes PlusYouth LingoLearn more about Sisterhood Ask a Question

Everything is Connected: Letting The Light in On Your Health
Are you trying to grow spiritually but still feel stuck? In this episode, Pastors Jimmy and Irene Rollins share how to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. So Good Moments: Pastor Jimmy and Irene had their darkest time eight years ago when she was struggling with a secret alcohol addiction. She’s now nearly eight years sober. It’s easy to focus on doing the right things but to forget the practical side of God’s Word—and the light He wants to shine in our lives. Pastor Jimmy ballooned to 420 pounds due to emotional weight he hadn’t dealt with. Once he got emotionally and Spiritually healthy, he started to exercise and stopped using food as medication.  Pastor Irene used alcohol to medicate and calm her nervous system. Once she detoxed from the alcohol in rehab, she started hearing God’s voice loud and clear. God’s Word became so loud to her in that season.Build your hobbies around things that keep you holy. Don’t just look for entertainment—develop a hobby that lets you recreate yourself.Discussion Questions: In what ways could you relate to Jimmy or Irene’s story of finding freedom?Has there been a time when you focused on Spiritual things to do but forgot the practical side of taking care of your physical, mental, or emotional health? What is your favorite way to enjoy God’s presence? Why do you think authenticity is important as believers, and how can you put it into practice? Resources: Two Equals OnePrevious episode featuring the RollinsRushing Woman’s SyndromeHow to Have a Quiet TimeSacred PathwaysThe Practice of the Presence of GodShownotes PlusLearn more about Sisterhood Ask a Question

The Sky is The Limit: Developing a Faith-Filled Mindset
Do you ever get trapped in a negative headspace? In this episode, some of our campus pastors share ways to embrace God’s promises and a faith-filled mindset. So Good Moments: When we try too hard to be accepted, loved, heard, and seen, it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison. We might be tempted to project a fake version of ourselves, but this is dangerous because even if others accept that version of us, they don’t know the real us and, therefore can’t love our true selves. Our identity in Christ is contrary to what culture wants women to have. Embrace being a servant of God who pours your life out to Him. Strive to serve God in your home, job, and with the people in your life. To have a faith-filled mindset, Pastor Erin does two things intentionally and proactively: 1) She declares Scripture over her life, situation, and family.  2) Having daily declarations helps her renew her mind so that she thinks like Christ. There’s power in our words, which is why choosing daily declarations to speak life gives you a more faith-filled mindset. To have a faith-filled mindset, Pastor Amy puts Spiritual disciplines into practice—reading the Bible, praying, listening to worship music, going to church, and being in community with other believers. We must intentionally do this every day so that our days are focused on God instead of our to-do list.Trust what you know instead of what you feel. Trust that God has put you where you are for a purpose. Do the Word of God every single day, and He will bless you. Discussion Questions: What stands out most from this podcast’s panel discussion? You might be an approval addict if: You’re afraid to be honestYou hate disappointing othersYou put too much weight on criticism or even praise Which one are you, if any? 3. What symptoms of people pleasing do you have, if any? If you’re not a people pleaser, do you struggle with caring about people more?4.What’s something that gives you a faith-filled mindset? 5. Are you more of a to-do list girl or do you prefer to let things happen more naturally?Resources: Shownotes PlusLearn more about Sisterhood Ask a Question
