About the Guest:  Lynn Heatley is a hospice nurse who returned to nursing after 17 years of being away from the profession. She originally worked as a registered nurse in her early twenties before taking a break to raise her children while her husband worked full-time. In 2006, she decided to go back to work and took refresher courses to re-enter the field of nursing. She became a hospice nurse and worked in that role until 2020. This career change was a significant shift for her, as she had previously been heavily involved in ministry and faith-based organizations. As a hospice nurse, Lynn had to learn how to provide care and support to patients and their families in crisis without necessarily mentioning her religious beliefs. This experience fundamentally changed her perspective on community and serving those in need. Lynn's transition into hospice care marked a pivotal moment in her life and career.
