yesterday, my queen and i, took a trip to da lu’ (honolulu, hawaii) to see my daughters. it was more than fun and meant more to me having been homebound for the last eight months of my life to be able to travel finally and enjoy family as healthy. this was my first trip off the island in that long and it was definitely one for the memory books!  listen in on how the island hopping day trip was and a few words for us parents who have older kids, letting them go and embracing having a life of our own, with a solid support group in and around you; life the way it is supposed to be!

software development is a very complex process. from architecting and designing a solution, based on requirements, within budget, without resources and on-time, not to mention selecting the proper technolog(y/ies) to get the job done, there is so much to consider nowadays. even with the advent of machine learning, artificial intelligence and learning, some teams are still missing the mark. sometimes, to truly be a step ahead, requires you to see the entire development process through a set of different lenses. while many developers are quick to code, we need to be more quick to listen and not persuade or talk. listen in to understanding how taking a different stance towards development, not by prioritizing what is truly important, but by listening to what is truly important. to do so, might just bring you closer to true minimalistic development!

what does not hurt you only makes you stronger, right? that friends would be adversity. when it finds you, like neo in the matrix, it forces you to take a stand and decide if the suffering is worth it or not. some of us will quit at the first sight of it, and some of us will ignore its existence, but if we could learn how to exercise not just patience, but perseverance and persistence as well, what we will find is that our growth from facing adversity head on, will benefit us in ways we could have never imagined for life!
