E95: 2022 Conference Series - Henry Sink
Please enjoy this pre-recorded session from our 2022 Student Conference. "Financial Planning Through CRNA School" - Henry Sink CRNAHello and thank you for taking the time to listen to what I want to teach! My name is Henry Sink, CRNA, a pseudonym. HENRY stands for “high earner not rich yet.” SINK stands for “single income no kids.” CRNA, as we all know, stands for “Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.” I graduated from my CRNA program in May 2020 and started working in August 2020 after passing the NBCRNA in June 2020. I earned my MSN.  I realized from an early point in my nursing career that though I was making good money, whether at the bedside or as a travel RN, that it was not about how much I was making but instead how much I was saving and investing for my future.  As a full time CRNA, with over 6 years as a bedside RN and over a year and a half as a CRNA, I have taken what I have learned and am passing it on to the next generation of nursing students, RNs, and APRNs. This is in an attempt to educate these individuals about the link between their income and financial independence. I created my platform, all on Instagram, during the summer of 2020. I had just finished my board exam, the NBCRNA, and realized I finally had time back on my hands. I knew that I wanted to talk about financial issues in the nursing community but wanted to specifically speak to SRNAs and CRNAs about their current and future financial positions.  In the future, I want to work to create financial literacy and financial independence resources for individuals at all levels of their nursing career. Whether it is a pre-nursing student who is nervous about taking out student loans to pay for nursing school, or a newly graduated CRNA who wants to know how to navigate their workplace retirement accounts, investing in different asset classes, or paying down their loans from their graduate program. Support the showTo access all of our content, download the CORE Anesthesia App available here on the App Store and here on Google Play. E92: 2022 Conference Series - Alesia Quante
Please enjoy this pre-recorded session from our 2022 Student Conference. "1099 Employment" - Alesia QuanteAlesia Quante has been a CRNA for 22 years, and for the last 21 has enjoyed the work/life balance offered by the 1099 CRNA lifestyle. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master's in Health Sciences in the Anesthesia for Nurses program from the Medical University of South Carolina in December 2001. Her 1099 practice locations have been in multiple hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physicians offices on the east and west coasts of Florida as well as coastal and central Georgia. Over the last decade she was a 1099 chief CRNA at a GI center in Savannah, GA. There she guided the practice from an ACT to a thriving independent CRNA-only staff. Throughout her career, Alesia has helped CRNA‘s control their schedule, earnings, and savings by teaching them how to transition from W2 to 1099.  In 2020, Alesia launched the 1099 Success Academy to teach CRNAs Practice Management with her AANA accredited “1099 Freedom Masterclass”. Alesia states, “It is my goal and honor to guide fellow CRNA’s to what I believe to be the most auspicious CRNA lifestyle. As a result of my tenure as a 1099 CRNA, I have been in complete control of my schedule, purchased benefits for a competitive rate, set my pay rate by negotiating independently, saved much more in my retirement account than I otherwise would have, not had to participate in workplace politics, and experienced many other freedoms associated with being a 1099 CRNA." Alesia was a live aboard sailor with her high school sweetheart husband for 22 years.  She presently lives in Isle of Hope, Georgia with her husband and two teens. Support the showTo access all of our content, download the CORE Anesthesia App available here on the App Store and here on Google Play.
