As the world is adjusting to this new post-pandemic world, students’ trauma predispositions have aggravated and surfaced in the forefront.

Dr. Orletta Nguyen, director of special education and an educational psychologist, joins us on the show to discuss some of the best practices in helping our students deal with trauma.

In the session, Orletta expounds on the definition of trauma, different levels of trauma, and how to recognize it, as well as bits of advice to students and parents on becoming aware of traumatic incidents. Additionally, she expounds on how trauma affects student brain, learning, and behavior.
