My Coffee Relapse - Solo Episode

My Coffee Relapse - Solo Episode
Welcome to the 35th episode of the Back to Human Podcast. This is a short solo episode where I share my experience abstaining from coffee and caffeine. As you can probably guess from the title, since recording the "Let's Take a Coffee Break" episode with Dr. Stephen Cherniske, I had reintroduced coffee back in to my daily routine and all was seemingly well, until it wasn't. What started out as a quick morning boost to get me through the day after a very poor night of sleep led to daily consumption of coffee that was masking how tired I really was. This ultimately ended up with me hitting a wall which caused me to reflect on my habits at the time, realizing that I really needed to just rest. I had fallen back into a state of human DOING rather than human BEING. I am once again bean free and believe I have kicked the habit for good. This episode is not intended to persuade you to give up coffee yourself. I am simply sharing my personal experience with coffee and what I have noticed since removing it. If you are interested in listening to the first podcast episode regarding coffee and it's addictive properties you can listen below: Spotify • https://open.spotify.com/episode/3Qy6exZpxtuWVu2GzCMNi6?si=2abbc1116c2944d2 Apple Podcasts • https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lets-take-a-coffee-break-exploring-the-dangers/id1631591103?i=1000621132740 If you liked the solo episode and would like to hear more let me know in the comments! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/james-andriella/support

Midwifery and the Sacredness of Birth with Whapio Diane Bartlett
Oct 6 2023
Midwifery and the Sacredness of Birth with Whapio Diane Bartlett
Welcome to the 27th episode of the Back to Human Podcast. On this episode we explore the world of midwifery and what birth can look like outside of conventional medicine. During Jade’s pregnancy, we elected to have an assisted home birth with a midwife. Things did not go as planned for us and Jade was transferred to the hospital where she was able to give birth to Jax, vaginally and unmedicated. Reflecting back on Jade’s pregnancy and labor, it seemed there was many tests, screenings and even coaching that may have been unnecessary and perhaps even harmful. For this interview I had the pleasure of speaking with Whapio Diane Bartlett. Whapio has been an Independent Midwife for 42 years, practicing and teaching about the consciousness of birth. Whapio believes, “The way we give birth is a mirror of our maturity on this planet. If we understood the magnitude of birth and our potential for transformation through birth we would organically raise our level of consciousness and all the inappropriate things we do would just disappear.” Some of the topics we discuss on this include: • Whapio’s introduction to midwifery • What is a midwife? • The difference between clinical and independent midwifery • What do women want in a pregnancy? • Who should you be giving birth with? • What is an undisturbed birth? • The role of the father in birth • The vagina being a portal • The male manifesto of birth • How can we collaborate with hospital staff? • Should women push during labor? • What is the illusion of choice in holistic midwifery? • How birth is a rite of passage and this has been taken away from women • What tests & screenings are actually necessary throughout pregnancy? • How can women find an independent midwife? Thank you for the listening to the show! I’d love to hear your feedback and would much appreciate you sharing this episode with someone you believe would benefit from hearing it! Greg has been a trainer for the past 25 years and is the co-founder of Premier Fitness Systems in Scottsdale, Arizona. While perceivably, “having it all”, Greg suffered from brain fog and felt off mentally. After having an MRI scan of his brain which eventually led to a diagnosis of Celiac’s disease and later CTE, Greg found no real resolution to his issues despite spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on different protocols, testing and supplementation. It wasn’t until he dove into airway health that he finally found some relief. On this episode we discuss: • Greg’s journey to studying airway health • Why our jaws are so small now and why the furniture (our tongue and teeth) no longer fit • Why breastfeeding is so important for optimal jaw development and how it teaches babies to nasal breathe • How bottle feeding creates a deficit for optimal breathing • How can we potentially correct this deficit? • Why is it so important to nasal breathe? • How should our tongue sit on our palate? • What is a tongue tie? • How a forward head posture limits your ability to use your diaphragm • What are some of the least invasive methods to increase our intermolar width? • Implementing breathwork in training • What would be some contraindications for mouth taping at night? • How you can't buy your health back Below are some additional resources if you are interested in learning more: Instagram: • https://www.instagram.com/projectairway/?hl=en Websites: • https://thebreatheinstitute.com/ • https://www.posturalrestoration.com/ Books: • Normal Breathing by Artour Rahkimov • Breathe by James Nestor • The Dental Diet by Dr. Steven Lin • The Oxygen Advantage by Patrick Mckeown • Nutrition & Physical Degeneration by Weston A. She holds a Ph.D in Natural Health and Nutrition and a M.S. in Holistic Nutrition. She is a functional blood chemistry analyst as well as a ZYTO specialist. Bethany kickstarted my journey into holistic health when I learned about her daughters reactions to childhood inoculations and I look forward to having her on for more episodes in the future. On this episode we discuss: • What inspired Bethany to pursue naturopathy rather than allopathic medicine? • Reactions her children had to childhood inoculations (stopped talking, stopped making eye contact, sick all the time and GI issues). • Overcoming those reactions through nutritional changes. • Withdrawal like symptoms when making dietary changes. • Lack of validation and medical gaslighting that patients can experience. • Was the most recent inoculation spiritual warfare? • What are some of the side effects patients have experienced as a result of the most recent inoculation? • Living out of faith instead of fear. • What are some other lies that we have grown up on? (Fluoride, cholesterol, mammograms) • Has there been a shift in western medicine to a more natural, holistic approach? • When should we visiting the doctor? If you are interested in learning more about Bethany's work you can visit her website: https://www.wholeheartedlyyours.org/ She also has a newsletter you can sign up for: https://bethanypadgett.substack.com/ If you would like to consult with Bethany you can contact her via text or call @ (352)449-8421 or email her @ drbethany@wholeheartedholisticsolutions.com Thank you for listening to the show! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/james-andriella/support
