21. Embracing the Seasons of Life with Nikki Callison
Nikki Callison grew up on 2000 acre cattle ranch with her parents and 4 brothers in Southern Oklahoma.  She is a fourth generation Oklahoma rancher.  She taught school in Plano Tx for 10 years before returning to Oklahoma where she met her husband Roger.  They adopted 3 children all at one time and knew they wanted to raise their family on a ranch.  They have a cow-calf and stocker operation.  Nikki raised her family, helped on the ranch and worked as a professional photographer. When Nikki's youngest daughter graduated high school, she decided to see the family's beef direct to consumers just as her grandparents had done in the early 1970's.  Nikki is the owner and operator of Callison Ranch Beef, shipping ranch-raised beef to 48 states.  Last year, Nikki expanded the business by adding Callison Ranch Market, a retail location on the ranch.  Nikki is a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Cattlewomen's Association and is on the Oklahoma Beef Council.Nikki loves combining her experiences as a rancher, horsewoman, photographer and teacher to share ranch life on social media outlets and at public speaking engagements.  She gives agri-tourism tours of the ranch and shares rides on the prairie checking cattle with her horse Beau. 18. Managing a Multigenerational Ranch Alongside Family with Spencer Black
Spencer Black was born and raised on a beef finish yard. His dad and uncle were partners in business and Spencer became a partner as he got older and started a family. Originally, he quit working for his dad when he was 17 to work for other farmers. He learned a lot about different management skills while working off his family ranch.  Spencer later went to college for political science changed his career back to agriculture. He had really good job opportunities and quit school. He and his family currently operate a cow calf ranch but he is also heavily involved in the feedlot. In addition, Spencer is currently the feeder council chair for the Idaho cattle association and we discuss a little about getting involved with your local industry associations.  @Blackspencer85 - instagramSpencer Black 976 - tik- tok~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Did you enjoy this episode? 16. Setting Yourself Up For Success & Self Mastery

16. Setting Yourself Up For Success & Self Mastery
Being a wife, mother, vet tech and entrepreneur requires a ton of ball juggling. Lately, I have been feeling overwhelmed and not centered. It is a feeling I know most of us experience in our own ways. However, it is about how you handle these situations to push forward and improve upon your foundation and continue to pursue your dreams.  I read two books recently that have really helped me come back and be more present and aligned with my intentions for more family and business.  I have been really enjoying my early morning getting myself geared for success by tuning into the right mind set. Part of my routine is getting up at 5am to start my "victory hour." The 5AM Club is a fictional book about an entrepreneur, an artist and a billionaire that take a risk and go on a wild adventure to find self mastery and success.I also found a lot of great methods on developing new routines to set myself up for greatness in the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear. I had a wonderful conversation with Kiah Twisselman-Burchett about this book and the value it also has brought her in her own life journey.  Want to learn more? 15. Living the Simple Life and Beginning Stages of Ranching with James Phillips
James Phillips, AKA "Phil" is a SOCOM Veteran who truly found comfort in nature, outdoors and around animals after he came back from deployment, Phil grew up in the farming space in the UK and moved to the USA when he was a young boy. He has always enjoyed being outside and feels grounded in that space. He and his wife, Maddie just moved to Idaho to start their dream farm and business. Phil also trains horses and helps cowboy on nearby ranches and really enjoys the lifestyle. We talk about that amazing non-profit NODENS who help veterans reset after getting back from deployment by integrating archery, hunting and outdoor skills. I was lucky enough to see the first class go through the process last year at a friend's ranch which was their retreat spot for the recipients, which is how Bryce and I met Phil. This is a fun conversation I know you will love!NODENS website: instagram: @nodensoutdoorsJames Phillips instagram: @j.w.phillips**********************************************************Did you enjoy this episode? 5. Normalizing Rural Mental Health Through Podcasting With Jason Medows
Jason Medows is a mental health advocate who is also heavily involved in the rural community and ranching industry. He has a podcast called, Ag State of Mind where he openly speaks with individuals about mental health, coping mechanisms, rural living and a ton of other amazing topics. I was fortunate enough to chat with Jason last year on his podcast! We also dive into the process of podcasting and how to start if it has been something you may be considering. Jason and his wife, Keri also own Kula Yoga in Cuba, Missouri where they lease a commercial space along side a Ju Jitsu studio to serve their community with moving their bodies and expanding their minds. We talk a bit about brick and motor spaces and how their business was set up. Jason is a good friend and I look up to him for podcasting advice and embrace that he is very open with communication within Ag and normalizing the mental health tops many rural Americans shy away from. Check out Jason Medows/ Ag State of Mind:Website: @agstateofmindFacebook: Ag State of Mind (PRIVATE GROUP) **********************************************************Did you enjoy this episode?
