Bob Kendrick, President of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and Erica Blaire, Winner of BBQ Brawl, Season 2 join us on episode 130.

Bob Kendrick is president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, https://nlbm.com/ and was our first podcast guest.  We are so glad to have this remarkable storyteller back for a third visit.  With so much to discuss we divided our conversation into two parts.  In part one, we discuss April 15, 1947, the date that Jackie Robinson broke the Major League Baseball color line when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers.  We also talk about the greatness of Hank Aaron and the hellacious treatment, including numerous death threats, Aaron was forced to endure as he was close to breaking the famous career home runs record of 714 set 33 years prior by Babe Ruth.  Aaron breaking the record was an incredible accomplishment, but it could have turned into a tragedy, and Bob explains it all.  We also speak about Bob's amazing podcast, Black Diamonds, and what is coming up in the new season.

Erica Blaire is a lawyer, sommelier, pitmaster, and the season two winner of BBQ Brawl on the Food Network.  This is another extremely entertaining interview we divided into two parts.  We have the feeling there is very little Erica cannot do when she makes the decision to try.  She tells us her origin story, which includes trying to help her father with an item on his post-retirement bucket list and this  leads to a barbecue class with famed pitmaster, Harry Soo.  Erica appears to do nothing half-assed.  With her, it is 100% or nothing at all.  She was a very good lawyer, a wonderful sommelier, and a great pitmaster; talented enough to beat some very experienced and talented competition in BBQ Brawl, season two, and become the Master of 'Cue.  Being fearless bodes her well, as she uses her boundless energy and spirit to tackle the numerous tasks she hopes to accomplish.  She talks about all of this, including a lot of her BBQ Brawl experience.
