Exploring Intuition and Light Language with Lori Hops
Nov 27 2022
Exploring Intuition and Light Language with Lori Hops
Intuition is the experience of gaining knowledge without conscious reasoning.  We all have similar experiences like turning in a different direction at the last minute to find our way to what we were looking for.  Or, responding with an answer to a question even though we didn't think we knew the answer in our conscious mind. Or, the awareness that someone was in the room with us, and when we turn to look, they are there. Dr. Lori Hops walks us through the value of using our innate intuition and trusting our instincts so they can develop.  She also shares her discovery and investigation into  Light Language and our ways of communicating and having awareness.  Perhaps you have wondered how you know what you know or how you gain information and insight so quickly and in different ways.  Our conversation is a light and informative dive into what our ways of knowing mean and how we can continue to develop these skills.  A true inspiration for exploring with curiosity, Dr. Hops creates the space for all of us to reach for more. Lori provides us with a special guided meditation to begin to develop the skills to access Light Language.  Be sure to make a cup of tea and take the time to enjoy this quiet opportunity.  With her background as a Licensed Psychologist and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, she is also a Diplomat in Comprehensive Energy Psychology.  Dr. Hops’ practices are based on conventional western empirical science, and wisdom traditions from around the world, including holistic systems, energy practices, and the use of intuition and inner guidance. Dr. Hops also uses techniques from Logosynthesis, cognitive behavioral, family systems, developmental, and psychodynamic approaches to healing with her clients. We open the episode with Hugging the Holidays tea blend from the Cape Breton Tea Company, launching with the 2022 Holiday Season, and close with some ideas about movement in the figure 8 pattern in dance and Tai Chi.  You can learn more about Dr. Lori Hops at www.drlorihops.com and on Facebook: Lori Hops.  Be sure to enjoy 50 more days of sharing Wellness tips and inspirations with Lori's 1000 days of gift-giving.  Or, review some of the fantastic tips she shared across the pandemic. The card deck that is shared in this episode is Affirmation for the Body and the BioField and can be found in the shop at www.dancedebut.com.  The card we refer to is called "Open Spaces Within" - When we focus on connections in a linear fashion, we miss the power of the spaces between and around.Michelle Greenwell, BA Psych, MSc CAM, Ph. Many of us have known someone who has had an accident or a head injury, that seemed minor, but took weeks or months to recover from.  It may have even been you.  How do you support revering from broken or bruised bones and tissue, fear, and anxiety, or a concussion or brain injury beyond the usual rest and relaxation, maybe stillness or silence? Our episode today explores options you have available to you when considering complementary and integrative health options.  We are exploring what happens when you don’t just wait for rest and relaxation to bring healing to the body and spirit. Today we have our guest with an injury, Denise Cambiotti, from Muscle Tuners International, as well as her two colleagues and friends who stepped up to support her with the symptoms she was experiencing throughout her recovery.  Denise has been working in the BioEnergetic Wellness field for over 3 decades.  She has trained extensively with mentors around the world.  She first began with Touch for Health training and is an instructor for this world phenomenon.  She is also an instructor for a program known as SIPS or Stress Indicator Point System.  The techniques in this program provide the facilitator with skills to find combinations of stressors within the system and bring them back into harmony.  You can learn more about her work at www.muscletuners.fit. Beverly Hunter is a recognized international Instructor, Consultant, and Therapist in her holistic health practices.   She has traveled intensively with Educational Kinesiology, Brain Gym, and MNRI as a core specialist working with our neurosensory motor reflexes and brain/body integration on people of all ages.  Although semi-retired, her love of being of service and sharing her knowledge keeps her in the field and active in her work.  One of her loves now is doing healing with the BioGenesis tools. Creating the Radiant Dancer and Dance Educator with Mariah-Jane Thies

Creating the Radiant Dancer and Dance Educator with Mariah-Jane Thies
With Season 2 we are exploring how the BioEnergetic Wellness tools from Touch for Health, Brain Gym, Therapeutic Touch, NeuroReflex Integration, etc., transform how we engage in our favorite activities.  Dance and dance tradition has been an interesting exploration as the tools that were used to create perfection in movement required repetitive learning, effort, and sustained positions.  Mariah-Jane Thies, ballet and modern dancer and educator has been turning dance training on its head with her connection of brain integration, creative imagery, dynamic movement, and passion for dancing.  Her current project, The Radiant Dance Teacher, is exploring the integration of BioEnergetic Wellness techniques with creative dance explorations.  Her goal is to provide a well-being environment for dancers and educators that continues to build energy and vitality throughout the class or rehearsal.  Her approach pulls some of the most profound tools from BioEnergetic Wellness to transform effort, memory, muscle integrity, flexibility, pattern building, and more, with ease and grace.  If you are an educator, a sports enthusiast, a wellness coach, person who moves every day (yes, I am being cheeky - that includes all of us), this talk will have a little something for everyone, including a few techniques and how to use them.To learn more about Mariah-Jane Thies and The Radiant Dance Teacherplease check out her TEDxTalk: - "Your Movement Habits Create your Life." The 3 pillars of her philosophy for teaching dance include INTEGRATION (brain), EMBODIMENT, and EXPRESSION. The other foundational principles of teaching dance can be incorporated into how you feel is appropriate, including training for strength, flexibility, and coordination. There are a lot of fantastic resources for the development of these areas. Please check my YouTube channel:   for a new approach that is very unique and also essential. Without Brain Integration, your students cannot learn. Without Integration your students cannot become truly Embodied and develop strength, flexibility, and coordination effectively and safely. And without a focus on Expression...what are we doing here as teachers of an art form? The Radiant Dance Teacher is also a group on FacebookSpecial shoutout to our sponsors at Tea with Intention from Intend2RaeD8 (Michelle Greenwell, BA Psych, MSc CAM, Ph. S1 E17 The Power of Children's Music with Dan Devion
Our children have been influenced by several years of minimal activity and social engagement.  How do they find their physical voices for movement and the valuable skills that feed their brains and their learning power?  What kind of music can bring them together with family and friends and inspire them to move in fun and interactive ways?  Enter, a Children's music icon for Canada.  Dan the Music Man, or Dan Devion, for short, has been entertaining and recording music for children and families for several decades.  My own children grew up with his music, and were a part of the recording process when Dan and I created the Stacey on the Keyboard CD.  Join me for this fun podcast exploring his music and how Dan went from a rock and roll band member touring the country, to being a child's entertainer and loving the power and influence of his music.  Dan Devion is with me for Be Well with Michelle Greenwell. To view the YouTube version with video clips be sure to visit Michelle's channel and the playlist for Be Well podcasts.Michelle Greenwell, BA Psych, MSc CAM, Ph. Puppet Power with Michelle Greenwell

Puppet Power with Michelle Greenwell
Turning the tables with colleague, Irene Widdup, Michelle shares her stories of puppets.  From "Stacey on the Keyboard"  with Stacey and Peter, the mice who live under the dance studio floor, she shares the power of action books - those stories you can explore with activities from the antics on the pages.  She introduces Newton Little Beak and Kepler, who will be mascots for the Choose Love Movement.  Her Stingray puppet makes an appearance talking about breathing and the Choose Love Formula.  The majestic nature of this sea creature creates some fun ideas for moving and expanding the breath.  This episode finishes with a guest appearance by Dan Devion or "Dan the Music Man" as he shares how his music and puppets have been expanded in special arts projects. Part 3 of the three part series on Puppet Power, we hope these episodes will have inspired some ideas on how role play, leadership skills, emotional and social learning, story telling and character development can be enhanced with some make believe and creativity.  Puppets do open a new world for children and adults, and bring the "fun" back into learning. Michelle Greenwell, BA Psych, MSc CAM, Ph. The Power Within the Touch for Health System with Greg Webb
Touch for Health is a system balancing the muscles in the body through increased energy flow through the systems of the body.  It can be a simple touch to a point on the head, a rub on a point on the body, or a trace of an energy line along the torso, legs or arms.  Documented by Dr. John Thie in the 1970's much of the work was already in creation through Dr. George Goodheart and many more before him.  Based on the theory of the 5 Element Wheel from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Touch for Health has been brought forward in easy to use techniques for anyone to be able to do.  Greg Webb has been a teacher and facilitator for many decades, and his wealth of knowledge and success stories are unbelievable.  Join us for this podcast as we talk about John Thie's ambition to see every household being able to have family members balancing each other and creating a self-care model for daily care.  With over 50 years of experiences with this bioenergetic wellness model, it is great to be able to share how it works and why it is important to our daily routines for wellness.  Michelle Greenwell, BA Psych, MSc CAM, Ph.
