William R. Forstchen has a Ph.D. from Purdue University with specializations in Military History and the History of Technology. He is a Faculty Fellow and Professor of History at Montreat College. He is the author of fifty books including the New York Times bestselling series One Second After, the Lost Regiment series, and the award-winning young adult novel, We Look Like Men of War. Dr. Forstchen resides near Asheville, North Carolina.Could ‘Unknown Factors’ in Schools Stop Active Shooters in Their Tracks?Washington, D.C., July 25, 2022 — While politicians wring their hands and debate complex gun control legislation, military expert and historian Dr. William R. Forstchen offers a strategy that could be implemented in time for the upcoming school year. “We arm some teachers,” Forstchen said in a recent interview. “We should select people who are ex-military, ex-law enforcement. Train them, train them, train them. Compensate them. Put them in the schools, armed. They become the ‘unknown factor.’ I think this could make a major difference.”  Besides exhaustively vetting and evaluating these chosen members of the school faculty, anonymity is paramount. In fact, Forstchen added, “If they ever tell anyone or boast, ‘oh gee I’m armed now,’ fire them. You want these people to be anonymous.” Forstchen’s perspective is informed by his 45 years of teaching and by the Beslan school siege in 2004 — an Islamic terror attack against a Russian school that left 333 people dead, including 186 children. He believes that arming teachers could serve as a deterrent, or at the very least, a way to stop school shooters in their tracks. “They would be the ‘unknown factor’ in every single school,” Forstchen wrote in a recent opinion editorial in The Washington Times. “They would be the men and women who, in those first precious seconds, would react rather than hide, be it against a lone killer or even a trained team of killers. They could buy time for other responders to rush in, rather than wait outside while mayhem runs rampant within.“They would be the ones who would willingly put their lives on the line … but would be the surprise factor in a school that would fight back when seconds counted. They might not stop, but they would at least slow down an aggressor and buy time for a swift response … In so doing, they just might prevent a Beslan massacre from happening here.”   The Beslan incident also prompted Forstchen to write the book, Day of Wrath, which presents the unsettling scenario of ISIS-inspired teams launching a coordinated attack on schools — a threat he views as all-too realistic. William R. Forstchen is a New York Times bestselling author and holds a doctoral degree from Purdue University with a specialization in military history and technology. He is a noted expert historian and public speaker and has been interviewed on FOX News, C-SPAN, and Coast to Coast on topics ranging from history to technology and cultural issues, to space technology development, to security threats. To read the entire op-ed, visit More information about Day of Wrath can be found here:

TOUR EDGE GOLF featuring the all new WINGMAN 700 SERIES
Tour Edge Announces the Launch of Wingman® 700 Series Putters Featuring Three New MOI-based DesignsToday, Tour Edge is announcing the launch of their new Exotics Wingman 700 Series Putters featuring three new modern mini-mallet designs and six total hosel options. The brand-new shapes offer cascading MOI (Moment of Inertia) properties matching the size of the Wingman putter head, providing maximum stability and optimal roll for every player type. The three innovative designs provide optimized alignment optics on the wildly effective Lock-On technology alignment system, improved acoustics, and a softer feel. Interchangeable sole weights on the heel and toe are featured in every model. “The original Wingman putters enjoyed a cult-like success, and over the past two years, we’ve been improving upon that success in every way possible,” said Tour Edge President and chief designer David Glod. “The feedback we received was that the Lock-On Alignment and the extreme stability of the putters were truly revolutionary for golfers. We put our focus on expanding the series to fit more player preferences in the shaping and to really upgrade the look, sound and feel of the putters in a big way.” “The result of our two-year revamp is six new putter models that represent some of the highest MOI putters on the market, and that are absolutely going to help you reduce the number of putts you are taking in a round,” added Glod. The Wingman 700 Series putters will be available for purchase worldwide on August 1 and will carry a retail price of $199.99. Models 701 and 702 – SUPER MAX MOIThe 701 (Mid Toe-Hang) and 702 (Face Balance) models produce extreme MOI. in a modern mallet design that forces the face square to the swing path for a truer roll due to the extreme perimeter weighted wings featured on the Wingman 701 and 702 designs. This larger footprint provides an extremely high resistance to twisting with one of the highest MOI ratings of any putter available on the market.Models 703 and 704 – MAX MOI  The 703 (Mid Toe-Hang) and 704 (Face Balance) models remove the perimeter wings featured on the Super Max MOI models and move the interchangeable weights more face forward. This provides a gradual step down in MOI for those wanting a more compact, smaller footprint while still providing massive MOI properties.  With the weights directly behind the face, this design creates more face control. MODELS 705 and 706 – HIGH MOI/MINI-MALLET

TPK GOLF featuring THE PUTTING STICK
www.TPKGOLF.comThe Putting Stick® is an excellent training tool for working on and grooving a fundamentally sound putting stroke. Get acquainted with advance putting techniques and strategies to start improving your short stroke.MADE IN THE USA - TAKE TWO STROKES OFF YOUR PUTTING GAME IN FIVE MINUTES A DAYThe Putting Stick is endorsed and used by too many of the Top 50 teachers to list all of them but 2 endorsements come from Mike Bender, #4 ranked teacher, and Craig Farnsworth (PUTTDOCTOR.COM)- Putting teacher to the stars of Golf (and considered by many as the #1 putting teacher in the USA)!!  What makes for "perfect putting practice"?  Developing a stroke that ensures your putter face is square to the line that you read, (and you need to be on) to make the putt.  So what is the purpose of putting practice- to develop a stroke that ensures the putter face is square to the line at impact with the ball.  How do you "groove" that stroke-  practice, practice, practice.  But the practice needs to be perfect!!  That means that the area you are practicing on needs to have no incline towards or away from your feet  - so the area where you strike the ball needs to be flat!! Uphill/downhill makes no difference, but the ball being in an area where there is a slope towards or away from your feet will affect your understanding of how you actually stroked the ball! The Putting Stick, as one of its utility patent claims, is the only training aid with an integrated (built-in) level, assures the spot you are putting on is level, "side to side."An example you want to avoid:  there is a slight slope from the ball towards your feet. You stroke the ball and it goes squarely down the line of your putter face stroke.  Are you "grooving" a good stroke? NO!  If the incline was towards you and the ball went straight, then your putter face had to be slightly open - otherwise, the ball should have gone slightly to the left. Also, you will see immediately after each stroke what your putter face position was in relation to squareness at impact: if you are even 1/4 of one degree open or closed, the ball will not be rolling down the middle of the stick but more along the edge. If the putter face is open or closed 1/2 of one degree, you will see more of the ball along that particular edge.  YOU GET IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK OF YOUR LAST STROKE - “FEEDBACK,” THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS!!  Now, you can work to correct  your stroke error - that makes for "perfect practice."

Michal J. Stott, author of TOO MUCH LOFT
"Too Much Loft" consists of three well-connected novellas that follow a young man's journey as a caddie, grounds crew member, and golf shop attendant at suburban Chicago country club in the early 1960's. The book will appeal to those familiar with country club life as golfers, social members, management, superintendents, maintenance staff, and anyone who likes a good story.Part One, Mrs. Peck, chronicles college boy Looper Litton's partnership with a 67-year-old matron as she competes in the D flight of a country club championship that she captured forty years earlier. This novella will particularly engage older female golfers who enjoy the camaraderie of intra-club competition. The personalities revealed will be familiar to anyone who lives or aspires to country club life and enjoys a well-crafted read.Part Two, Mr. O, details Looper's summer experience while working for a contentious greenskeeper. Still caddying, this time for an international exhibition of female golfers, he is never far from the country club intrigue that consumes his life. Under the iron hand of his supervisor Mr. Olson, Looper learns the ins and outs of golf course maintenance. His views on agronomy, turf care, disease, irrigation, equipment, and country club maneuvering, undergo a dramatic learning curve with the arrival of new assistant superintendent, Jerome Gjertson. Jerome's new age education conflicts with Mr. Olson's old school ways. Part Two will strongly resonate with anyone working in any agronomic capacity associated with the golf course maintenance industry. As the international exhibition unfolds, pitting Swedish female golfers versus American college girls, Looper finds himself firmly enmeshed in the competitive nature of the tournament.Part Three, In The Pro Shop, tells the story of Looper's growth. Thanks to his understanding of human nature and popularity with the membership, Looper views country club politics on a heightened level while giving lessons to an attractive member's daughter. With the help of his mentor Billy Sauers, Looper learns to fully comprehends the give and take required to serve and survive the foibles of the country club membership while courting the prospect of romance.Anyone in private club administration and management, such as members of the National Golf Course Owners of America, the National Club Association, the Club Management Association of America, etc., will recognize and identify with the tribulations and characters who inhabit mythical Spring Willows Country Club.
