In episode eight, Take Up Space, co-hosts Geneva Mayne and Kristen Ruiz are joined by special guest, Marcia Lesser, a somatic experiencing practitioner. They discuss the psychological and physiological implications of contraction, or not “taking up space.” They explore the role of social interaction and socio-cultural systems on learning and development; and how these systems serve to enhance or inhibit learning & development. Marcia Lesser presents ideas and strategies for empowerment, by which one can learn to take up more space; thereby expressing one’s voice with freedom.

Somatic Experiencing International (2021) describes their program as "a body-oriented therapeutic model applied in multiple professions and professional settings—psychotherapy, medicine, coaching, teaching, and physical therapy— for healing trauma and other stress disorders," (p. 5).
