One of these groups, Caregiver Support Group, was born out of a suggestion for a resource for those experiencing caregiver burnout. Also offered is options for those dealing with grief. This includes a grief support group and camp for children experiencing grief. Jamie and Kenzie discuss how to get involved with these resources and how to reserve your spot.

In this episode, Katie speaks with Lilly Cassel, Director of Acute Care, about Virtual Nursing. This program has been active at Good Samaritan for 8 weeks with the help of Banyan and is already serving our patients and nurses. Lilly also discusses management styles and ways that Good Samaritan is supporting their nurses by helping to fill in the gaps to get nurses back to the bedside.

In this episode, Katie speaks with Heather McKinley, the Good Samaritan Pharmacy Staff Development Supervisor, about Drug Take Back Day. This event is hosted by Good Samaritan and will take place on April 20, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This will give community members the opportunity to dispose of their unused and expired medications properly. Heather also discusses the dangers of not disposing of these medications and alternative options for disposal that is offered year-round.

In this episode, Katie speaks with Dr. Dustin Blackwell and Nurse Practitioner Lindsey Van Schoyck about the Biote Method. This method is for hormone optimization and replacement for those who need it. Unbalanced hormones can cause fatigue, mood swings, hot flashes, sleep issues and so much more. In this episode, Katie speaks with Tracy Snyder, Director of Laboratory, about Good Samaritan's Medical Laboratory Science program which Tracy serves as the Program Director for. Tracy discusses the kinds of candidates the program is looking for, as well as how this program will prepare students for their Board of Registry exam. By spreading good news and updates throughout the community, this council keeps community members updated on the goings-on at the hospital, while offering a face for the community to trust with concerns and suggestions. Cassie also talks about her hopes of expanding this council and what the process looks like for those that do.
