We had Dylan and Lara from Woebegone Freedive on the podcast.  An amazing couple who run their dive outfit from our beautiful Jervis Bay. They share their beginnings adventuring through Mexico where they really saw the advantages of ecotourism and where their passion grew for giving people the opportunity to connect to nature. Johnny is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to permaculture and regeneration and we're lucky to have this man's influence in our community!He has been the head of the Greenhouse park project based at the industrial area in Port Kembla NSW, to restore the old industrial wasteland and has demonstrated that the land can be healed and proved this by creating a healthy food forest in a once wasteland dumpsite.His project/family home is the Budawang permaculture project and is being used as a work in progress example of how adopting arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems can lead to better land management, more nutrient-dense crops, and actually create higher yields. All creating a deeper understanding and connection to land, ecosystem, and Earth!He also shared his life experience of the year that was 2020. School. Who can say they enjoyed every moment of it?  I don’t know man kids who are thrilled to be going to school. What is it that makes it such a drag and does it have to be that way? In an ever-changing world and with an unprecedented challenge that school age kids and parents alike have to deal with these days with social media and other technology, maybe there’s a different way of educating our youth that’s worth exploring?In this episode, we have local practitioners Peter Anderson, a chiropractor, and his wife Wan Yi Ng a GP, come on to talk about the ambitious project they’ve embarked on. They’re in the process of developing the Milton Ulladulla Small School, a small community-based school right here in our area. Melissa is a marine biologist and wildlife educator with a BA (Hons) in Marine Ecology and Conservation degree from New College of Florida, USA and an MSc in Marine Biology from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ. She is a freelance environmental contributor, and founder of The Fins United Initiative (TFUI), a program that brings attention to the unusual and diverse sharks (and their relatives) of the world and their researchers.
