Our Editor's Take

The Rich Roll Podcast is a fascinating introduction to ultra-endurance athlete Rich Roll. He's a vegan and passionate about plant-based nutrition and wellness. Surprisingly, it wasn't until he reached middle age that he found his love for fitness. Rich didn't even own a bike two years before his first Ironman race.

Rich started the podcast in 2012 to share his fitness insights and experiences. He thought podcasts were a great form of entertainment and education during training. The Rich Roll Podcast allows him to interview peers who all have differing points of view. He loves the ability to connect with people. Rich may not always agree with his guests, but he wants his podcast to be a safe platform for ideas.

Rich invites guests to talk about everything from climate change to social media. Actor Rainn Wilson joins to discuss his ambition for "A Spiritual Revolution." Listeners may know Rainn for playing Dwight Schrute in The Office. Rainn believes people need to find meaning to help humanity move forward. It's an intriguing discussion offering a fresh perspective on life.

Another actor joins in the episode "Zach Braff Is Processing Pain Through Art." Zach is most famous for the TV show Scrubs. He talks to Rich about his creative process and finding authenticity in art.

The Rich Roll Podcast offers an insight into Rich's life and experience, as well as the fascinating people he knows. Guests include world-renowned physician Peter Attia and John Pearson, the first male supermodel. Rich also talks to his wife, Julie Piatt, about his story of self-improvement. He reveals how he became a fan of plant-based diets and talks about their life in Hawaii. Their lifestyle focuses on healthy food and being closer to nature.

Each weekly episode offers escapism through a range of compelling topics. Listeners can learn about the emotional lives of teenagers, the science of mind, and the art of winning world records. There's even a meditation masterclass with tips and advice on achieving peace in one's life. The Rich Roll Podcast premieres new episodes each week.
