Scary Mystery Surprise is a podcast of scary stories told in a comedic way. Each episode tells a true, startling story found by two comedians online. The series explores true crime and ghost stories that can frighten even the most experienced horror fans. Despite the subject matter, this show manages to be funny and entertaining.

Michelle Newman and Edwin Covarrubias are the hosts of Scary Mystery Surprise. Michelle is a podcaster and founder of Newman Media. She has a photography and video art background and became a podcast host in 2019. She is also the producer and host of Tell Me A Ghost Story. In that show, listeners call in with scary personal stories. She also hosts Deep Healing with Greg Davis, a comedy series about wellness. Edwin is a writer and podcaster specializing in scary stories. His other hosting credentials include the Scary Story Podcast, and True Scary Story.

Both podcast hosts have an evident passion for the supernatural. They tell a range of spooky stories, yet use comedy in their delivery. Michelle and Edwin are natural storytellers, finding humor in the macabre. In Ghostly Ladies In White," they tell stories about ghostly women worldwide. In "Real Horror Stories Of Rat Attacks," they explore scary rodent stories. In "Ben Franklin EXPOSED," they discuss the skeletal remains found underneath a man's home. In "Creepy Chain Letters," they talk about eerie letters dating back to the 17th century. "Getting Cursed by a Real Haunted Doll" tells a doll story that could give listeners nightmares.

Other stories are less spooky and more funny. In "What Is Tarot?" the hosts ask tarot cards if they are likable. In "Two Cowboys, One Bigfoot," they discuss the famous "real footage" of bigfoot in the wild. Scary Mystery Surprise is a horror story podcast with plenty of jokes told along the way. It releases new episodes every week. Most episodes are 20 to 30 minutes long.

Our RANDONAUTICA Adventure

The mystical app Randonautica describes itself as “the world’s first quantumly generated Choose Your Own Adventure reality game.” It invites you, the user, to set an intention for your quest before running off toward your coordinates. The idea is that you will manifest that intention during your journey, which is to say, while “randonauting.” It's become a viral sensation on TikTok. It also led a group of teens in the Northwest to a dead body. So, of course, Michelle and Edwin had to try it out. Edwin set our intention as death. Did we die? Maybe.
